I got this Tardis for my Dr Who Obsessed 5 year old for his birthday. I was a little nervous about it because it was so expensive and had some mixed reviews. He was however adamant that his Doctor needed his Tardis and how can a parent argue with that logic?
I will admit that this toy should probably be battery prepped by an adult, everything screws in and there are lots of wires and whatnots in there to potentially break. It does require a patient and steady hand but with an adult and the proper tools we had no problems getting the toy ready for it's first trip in time and space. My son was insanely pleased, he wouldn't set it down for anything. Which wasn't entirely fair because everyone else in the family really wanted to have a go spinning it about or popping The Doctor in there and then flying him around. The ship makes the characteristic whoosh whoosh sound of course along with a few others, it also lights up in multiple places and is just all around awesome. I want one of my own to take to work with me. Even the sole non Who geek in the house was impressed with it and spent quite a lot of time playing with it.

I've been a Dr. Who fan since the 80s. "MY" doctor was Tom Baker, but I never had the ability to show my "whoness" much. I decided to pick this up and use it as a conversation piece on my desk. It gets lots of laughs.
I did have problems when I first got it though. I did remove the screws on the bottom of the unit because I thought I needed to do so to remove some of the "theft prevention" items. When I did this the entire bottom fell out and pieces flew everywhere, so don't take this thing apart!

So I love this. Absolutely. However I would never pay forty something dollars for it. I believe someone messed up because I only paid $8.52 for two of them. I think it is worth twenty but not much more. You have to manually spin it which I didn't realize. And for mine the sound doesn't come on when you shake it like the instructions say. It is bigger than the coin bank by quite a bit.
Overall it is a great addition to my Doctor Who stuff and it stores starbursts really well.

Theres not much more I can say about this Tardis that others havent. Its an excellent "model" of the Tardis. The one thing I will say is DONT BUY IT FROM THIS GUY. He has inflated the price 3 fold. You can still buy this for $50 or less elsewhere. Plus there is the new 11th docotrs Tardis coming out as well as past doctors. PLEASE dont spend your cash on this vendor.Customer Review: It's the TARDIS! What else would you want???

This is my first Doctor Who merchandise and I'm so glad I got it! It's absolutely perfect! The details are amazing, the sound effects, the lights, everything is spot on. Also, it goes really well with the Nine action figure I got (my second merchandise. Yay!), the scale is perfect.
I could not recommend it enough.
