I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter for her birthday. I was a little hesitant since some reviews weren't very positive. I was especially worried about the reviews that mentioned the hard-to-see screen and flimsiness of the product. Now that my daughter has been playing with it for 2 weeks, I am glad I purchased it. There is a way to adjust the screen to make the letters easier to see. The screen also has a nice swivel feature so she can share the screen with others around her. She has two younger brothers who have also played with it, so it appears to be holding up so far. My daughter likes it because the keyboard is QWERTY like mine and has a notepad feature that allows her to type in her own notes. The notes are saved even when the computer is turned off. My daughter likes the math games and the ability for it to play back songs that she created. She plays with it almost every day. I think it is a great value.
