Description of Creative Fitness Door GymThe Door Gym stands head and shoulders above the competition. This versatile device can be set up in seconds on almost any door frame and lets you work out in the convenience of your own home or office. It latches on without screws, bolts or fasteners, so you won't leave holes in your door trim. A cantilever design uses your own body weight (up to 300 lbs.) to keep it in place. Door Gym is more than a simple pull-up, chin-up bar. It also has two protruding close-grip handles that let you work out with your palms facing each other, a good position for isolating the muscles in the center of your back that control posture. In addition, you can use Door Gym on the ground as a push-up bar and a sit-up spotter.
Sports reviews of Creative Fitness Door GymCustomer Review: Stronger than me Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
The Creative Fitness Door Gym is sturdier than I imagined. My current weight is 204#. Like others have written before me, I was wary that it would stay in place once I tried to hang from it. This thing is a rock, an absolutely brilliant (yet simple) design.
My ability to perform pull-ups or even chin-ups can only improve with the Creative Fitness Door Gym. For now, I am working on "negative" pull-ups in an effort to build enough strength to reach that goal. Once proficient at performing multiple sets of pull-ups/chin-ups, I will consider purchasing the Creative Fitness Door Gym Broad Reach Attachment. That is probably a way off, however.
Customer Review: Excellent and sturdy product! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
A friend of mine recommended this pull-up bar, and I'm so glad that we decided to purchase it. The bar installs in a matter of minutes, and works on a variety of door frames. (Check the product description carefully to make sure that it will work with your door.) Because you don't need to drill it into the wall, you can switch doors easily and also do not have to worry about leaving drill marks on your door frames. It is also very sturdy; my husband and I both use it, and he weighs about 190.
We also bought the optional wide bar, which I would recommend if you want to do wide-grip pullups. I'm doing P90X for the first time, and it's nice to have the variety of options that P90X calls for.
Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Great pull up bar - very stable! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I originally bought the "iron gym" pull up bar, but was disappointed to find out that the main bar (the one you actually pull yourself up with) is split into two pieces. This makes it extremely unstable and it did not feel safe when I did a pull up. I only way 165 lbs, so I can't imagine a 200+ lb person even attempting a pull up on the iron gym. It felt like it was literally going to snap in half!
With this pull up bar, the main bar is one solid bar, so it is very stable. The rest of the design is essentially the same as the "iron gym" so you can still do all of the same exercises with it. I highly recommend this pull up bar. For the money and convenience, you cannot go wrong. I should be in shape in no time!
Customer Review: Great Product, worth the money Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After reading all of the positive reviews of the product, I decided to purchase it. It is definitely the cheapest option that I could find for pull ups. A VKR was to large and Monkey bars are very expensive. This device is small and easy to take down and put up. The first night I got it I must have done 50 - 75 pull ups (not in a row, in sets of 5). The pamphlet that comes with it shows all of the different pull up positions and I was trying them all while watching TV. The door gym is a great body weight workout. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to do pull ups and are limited by space, and don't want to drill holes in your door frame, the door gym is great. It also works well for push ups.
Customer Review: Great product! I don't know why anyone would say different Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've had this item for a couple of weeks now. I think it's great! I read almost all of the reviews before deciding to order.
Some mention the hardware not being the right fit for the parts. Maybe that was true in earlier shippings, but the fasteners that came with mine were correct.
Also some people reviews mentioned it being difficult to assemble. Difficult??! The thing bolts together in about a minute or two; nothing complicated at all.
Does it stay in the door? Yes. No wobbling. It sits there solid.
You just have to read the product description carefully. it gives the door frame dimensions that it was designed for.
Highly recommended.
