If used as designed it will work perfectly to get the extra length you need. Just don't over twist the end on with the elastic, twist till snug and then don't play with it. Also, don't use the extension as a new spot to grip for pullups. Just stick to the many positions available on the original piece of equipment. Get the extra wide bar for wide lat work if you want to grip wider.
Description of Creative Fitness Door Gym Extension Bars
For the Door Gym. Extends the maximum size of the door opening that the bar will work with to 45". Maximum molding width that the extension bars will work is 3-1/2 inches. Door Gym sold separately.Don't be limited by wide doorways when installing your Creative Fitness door gym. Instead, turn to this pair of extension bars, which let you use your door gym on door openings from 32 to 45 inches wide. The extensions are easy to install: simply remove the existing end plugs and foam from the door gym, then slide the extensions on. Once they're installed, you can twist and lock the extensions into the desired position within your doorway.
