I actually kinda like this thing. It is NOT an air mattress, so it does not inflate very much. I believe the other users who reviewed it so negatively probably tried to over-inflate it, which does indeed make it uncomfortable. Basically, you open the valve, let it self-inflate for a minute or so, and then top it off by blowing a few breaths of air into it. Done properly, it's quite comfortable under your sleeping bag. Maybe not as good as a $100 pad from REI, but for the money it's not too shabby.
