Customer Review: Easy to set up and roomy

Bought this for our first car camping in Grand Tetons. We bought this tent considering its size, price and good reviews in Amazon. We are a family of four, so you might think that this is bit over-sized for us.. But this allowed all of us to stand in the camp (at the same time) and this was especially true on rainy days when we had to spent several hours in the tent.. Set up was easy. We practiced it once before the travel (recommended ).. When we reached the campsite it was 8pm and about to rain, but we could set it up in 20 minutes (practice came handy)... I think the only tricky part is to set up rain fly... It rained several days but not a single drop fell inside. It was large enough to fit in all our stuff and still left room for our little one to run around... We simply loved this tent and now feel like going for another camping with it..
P.S..Though we tried hard, we could never squeeze in all the items back to the original bag :-)..
Cons ?.. Nothing so far, will update if we find any..

Our first weekend out with this tent we got caught in a wind storm that took out many of the tents on the beach. It came out of no where and we had not even had the tent fully up yet so it was not as secured as it should have been. Even under those circumstances it held up perfectly. The areas that were not completely up yet just layed down flat without breaking any of the poles. They bent and blew all over the place for a while, but never broke. The storm lasted for over 3 hours and I thought for sure the tent was going to be a goner, but it was still in perfect condition when the wind stopped and we were able to continue putting it up. There was also heavy rain that night and another wind storm the next day. I could not believe how well this tent did. It stayed dry and did not even buckle to the wind once it was up all the way. When we left the lake the dumpsters were full of broken tents that weekend, but not ours. I will never buy another brand of tent again. I am as sold on Coleman as I am on Amazon.Customer Review: Very Good Value

After setting the tent up the first time, I was surprised that such a large tent could be put into the compact bag that it comes in. The first thing that I did was seal all of the seams, which is standard for pretty much any tent. The process took at least 2 hours and I went through 2 tubes of seam sealer (this tent has a lot of seams)! The second night that we had this out in the woods camping, a decent size storm hit us, and the tent stayed absolutely 100% water-tight. We were very happy with the results. The tent fits my family of five with no problem, we put the 2 older kids in the one side, our double-sized air mattress on the other, and put our 3-year old in the middle. Setup is fairly easy, and now that I've done it a few times, I'm confident that I can get it set up within 30 minutes. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and am looking forward to several more camping trips with it.Customer Review: Good deal

Purchased the tent for a summer camping trip to the Sierras (in CA.) 80 degree days and 45 degree nights. There were 4 of us going and thought I needed to upgrade from my current 5 person capacity tent. So, in reading the reviews of this product, was surprised how many positive reviews it had received for the price. Well, it is well-built compared to many other tents I've purchased (4 over the last 3 years.) Also, kept the bugs out. Good solid and thick flooring which actually extends up 3-4 inches into the tent walls (for added protection from the elements.) When rolling up my tent, noticed it was so well-built, I couldn't get any air to escape from the tent walls and had to navigate it towards the mesh windows! The only slight con - while I can stand in the center, my 6'2" height has to bend over when moving around the tent (though, I don't use my tents for walking around in!)Customer Review: Great tent and water proof

Bought this tent at Walmart while camping in South Dakota. Our old tent almost collapsed from the rains and literally flooded, it was like a river. Our son was using a 9x7 Coleman tent set up next to our big tent and didn't have a drop of water in it while we washed away. Made me a believer. We used this tent for myself, husband and daughter, had plenty of room it in, the back zipper flap is great for bringing in an electric cord so we didn't have to fight an electric cord every time we came in or out. Definitely a two person job to put the tent up, but no big deal. Very reasonably priced and would buy another one. Durable, well constructed, I say water proof, not just water resistent. Good windows in it, nice ventilation, you can stand up in it without hitting your head in the middle of the tent. Will use it again this summer in Colorado - can't wait.
