I bought this to be used with Coleman single-size air mattresses, and I have to say, it gave my arms/shoulders/back quite the workout!
It takes a good amount of time pumping up and down, up and down, to get even a single-size air mattress inflated.
Pros:
- No need to worry about finding power / batteries
- Never worry about a flat battery in an electric pump
- Sturdy construction
- Variety of connectors for different valves included
- Great workout for the upper body ;)
Cons:
- Can be tiring to inflate two mattresses in a row
- Takes quite a bit of time & effort to inflate even a single-size air mattress
- Pump is quite large and cumbersome
I don't regret buying this over the more expensive electric pumps, and I expect that it would last much longer too! Hopefully it would work with other brands of air mattresses too - I haven't had the chance to try that.
This pump apparently also allows you to suck air OUT of the air mattress, allowing the mattress to be thoroughly deflated, and be as compact as possible.

The Coleman pump worked really well. It's a little bit of work, but way better than blowing it up with lung power. Very durable and the dual action came in handy when it was time to deflate one of my bigger rafts. It's better with 2 people when trying to deflate so you can get more of the air out. And the fact that it comes with several different tips for different applications was a big plus. I actually bought 2 by mistake and sold the other one to a friend and he is very happy with the way it works. I would consider an electric pump if I had a gargantuan inflatable, but this pump works very well for most of what I have.
