About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.
Sports reviews of Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with LightCustomer Review: Makes hot nights bearable! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have used this on three camping trips with great success. All weeks had hot muggy evenings where the tent was very uncomfortable. I just put the fan on low and moved my air mattress under the fan and was able to get to sleep quickly. This would not have been possible without the fan. The four D batteries have lasted through all three weeks of camping. My fellow campers wanted to steal the fan. Great product!
One suggestion - take the batteries out when moving the fan. The weight of the batteries bend the contacts and a good connection is lost. You then have to bend the contacts back out to restore a good connection. Too much bending and the contacts could break.

Here's the damage report:
The plastic on the LED light's is cracked, I've replaced the batteries once, and the blades are slightly damaged.
...not bad for it's 4th year...
Really durable fan, I use it every year at boyscout summer camp, and the damage hasn't even hurt the performance. I Replaced the batteries once year, but that's just because I thought they would run out. Excellent fan, a bit heavy yes, but when batteries are the source of the power the unit usually gets heavy. Another good fan is the O2Cool Portable Canopy/Tent Fan, so you should check out my review on that.
Customer Review: works as advertised Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've used this fan on two campouts now and I have not had any problems with it collapsing the tent. Both campouts have been in cooler weather so I have not had a chance to really test the fan, but it seems like it will work just fine. The lights work well and it is nice to have them above your head. The switches are a little hard to find in the dark. Overall it works as expected and i would recommend it to anyone who needs to circulate some air while they sleep.
Customer Review: Keeps the tent cool throughout the camping trip. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
We camp in a tent for 10 straight days every summer in the mountains of North Georgia, and this little fan/light combo really helps to keep things comfy and cozy. The fan runs (on low) all night and we use the lights for reading about 1 1/2 hours each night. We have to replace the batteries once during the trip. This has been the pattern for the 4 years that we've had this product and it's still going strong. Well worth the money spent.
