This is a great set for UL backpacking at less then 8oz. When i go solo I just take the pot with lid which is less then 3 oz. Make sure to get a pot grabber (3$, 1oz) to pull the put off the fire b/c otherwise you'll tip it over or get burned. It dented in my pack, and the detachable handle isn't sturdy enough to remove the pan when full of water/food (bends) but hey, its 7 bucks! Still haven't found anything as light for a reasonable price so i'm sticking with this. Very pleased.Customer Review: For the price...

Really, for the price, this product is a great buy. If you're looking for something reliable and functional for long periods of time... look elsewhere. This is your standard "boy scout" standard issue mess kit. Coleman has never let me down over the years, and I still stand by that statement. If you're just starting out backpacking then this is the mess kit for you. It's practically identical to the kits Boy Scouts of America have been using for decades. There are a hundred different kits that you can find that will be made of stronger, lighter, non-stick material, but if you're only using if a few times a year, who needs all that?Customer Review: It is what it is.

This is a cheap mess kit for one.
It is lightweight. Not for a hardcore camper, but good for the person who goes 1 to 2 times a year. Compact. I agree with what others said about the pot that boils, but if you make the right contraption out in the wild, you can make ANYTHING work for you.

This was great and shipping was on time. The set is light and very compact. everything is made to fit in the pan. put everything in the pan, fold the handle back and use a screw given to make a very compact carrying kit. the one thing is the pot is a little small but can complain.
