Take the convenience, efficiency, and versatility of the household barbecue grill on the road this summer with the clever Roadtrip Grill LXE from Coleman. Whereas other portable liquid propane grills are petite and tabletop in design, the Roadtrip LXE is a full-size grill with collapsible scissor legs for countertops or travel. This 36-inch grill features 285 square inches of cooking space, ideal for toting to the beach or just into the driveway a small block party. Two 10,000 BTU burners cook meats evenly. Independent control knobs allow users to adjust temperatures on either burner for flexibility.

The grill comes equipped with two warp-resistant cast-iron grill grates, coated in porcelain for cleaning convenience. Two side tables attach to the grill's sides for extra preparation space and store neatly under the grill. A grease tray catches drippings, sliding out for cleaning. The grill is outfitted with an Instastart electronic ignition. The grill affixes to a standard 16.4-ounce disposable propane cylinder, or can be hooked up to a 20-pound tank with an additional accessory purchase. Burning on high with a propane cylinder, the grill operates for 2.1 hours, while low settings allow operation for up to 4.5 hours. A heavy-duty vitreous lid cased in painted steel contains flames to reduce hazard while barring access to bugs and debris. The collapsible legs feature two wheels on one end and a wide handle on the other for towing. To clean the cooking surface, use mild detergents and avoid steel wool. Coleman offers several interchangeable Roadtrip cooking surfaces, including a stovetop and griddle, for separate purchase. This grill requires assembly. Coleman offers a limited five-year warranty for this item. Collapsed, the grill measures 36 by 22 by 13 inches with a shipping weight of 60 pounds. Propane is not included. --Jessica Reuling

Sports reviews of Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill LXE

Customer Review: Great for camping
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

We purchased the Coleman 9949-750 road trip grill because we were looking for a larger grill for camping. The grill is great on space and the side pull out trays very handy. We were able to cook burgers and dogs for 8 with plenty of room. It is nice that we can bring it to other campsites and we have actually used it at our house too. We have not cooked with the grill cover all the way down due to other reviews we read stating that the handle has melted so we just prop it up a little and have had no issues. We got an adapter and have hooked it up to a larger propane bottle instead of having to buy lots of small bottles. We bought the "full size" griddle to go along with it and are looking to get the burner adapter too. This grill is great!

Customer Review: Great Grill, Don't listen to the bad reviews!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

After researching the Weber Q grill and this grill, I decided on this one. I was most hesitant in ordering it because of all the bad reviews centering around the quality of this grill. Those bad reviews were bad only because the users didnt know how to operate this grill. I fed a group of 15 people at our Easter Picnic making about 50 lamb chops! It operated better that I ever expected! The propane tank lasted for hours and I even bought an extra to use in case it ran out, but it still had juice left! Clean up was easy thanks to the suggestion of using foil. All in all, if youre looking for a great travel grill that actually works, is simple to transport and set up, AND is VERY WELL MADE, choose the Coleman... you wont regret it!

Customer Review: GREAT GRILL
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I purchased this grill solely for my balcony... It's perfect and I think because it's portable it even more perfect. I was a little scared of gas grills but this took all that away..Easy as one, two, three...Oh, and clean up is a breeze, take off the slates, wash them in your dish-washer or by hand it's a breeze, it has this little compartment for the grease drippings and that too was a clean up breeze... I have used this grill I'd say about 6 times since I bought it, and it's heaven, Love it...however, I haven't used it for a road trip it's so easy to fold and pack-up and take along, can't see leaving it behind if I were to go on a road trip....I think this has been a Great investment, great product..

Customer Review: Coleman Road Trip Grill LXE
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I have had this Grill for a few Weeks now, and at first was very Leary on
Grilling with the Cover Closed, because of a lot of pro and cons I had read
about Grilling with the Lid Down. NOT TRUE Yes you can Grill with the Lid
Down, but on LOW HEAT. It does an Excellent Job, I have done Wings, Steak
and Hamburgers with no Problem at all, the only thing I would have Liked to
see would be a Temperature Gauge on this unit, you do have to keep an eye on
what you are doing, this Grill gets HOT. But an EXCELLENT GRILL. I LOVE IT.
It is well worth the Price, I think it is worth More then the Price. You just
have to get this Grill, it is the BEST.

Customer Review: Blue Version does NOT "melt"
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I have owned the Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill, Blue for probably 5 years. I use it for tailgating in the fall and occasional grilling at home. The Blue version doesn't have wheels on the stand, but you can cook w/ the lid closed. I have no clue why they downgraded that on the newer LXE/Red version.

It has been a great grill and the only negative is the clean-up, but it isn't bad considering the way any grill is intended to function. I used to try and clean it on site after tailgates often in the dark, which was not suprisingly a mess. Now I do a quick wipedown and throw it in the carry bag until I get home.
