Catalytic 3,000 BTUThe Coleman 5053A751 ProCat Portable Catalytic Propane Heater with Electronic Ignition provides consistent heat where no other sources are available without the danger of open flames. Whether you need a backup heater for power outages or want to heat a garage, shop, tent, boat, or ice shanty, this cordless heater for indoor use is ready to go wherever you might need some warmth.
Constructed with 3,000 BTU output, the catalytic heater with platinum technology provides flameless heat from a pressure-regulated propane fuel system that produces a steady fuel stream, even in cold weather, at high altitudes, or when fuel is low. The starting mechanism is a fast-acting piezoelectric sparker that ignites the propane in the presence of atmospheric O2. Easy to operate, you simply screw a 16.4-ounce propane cylinder on the back, turn the knob to "on" for a few seconds, and hit the ignition switch. The portable heater moves the heat efficiently with a fan, powered by two D batteries (not included), for better circulation. The Coleman ProCat operates for up to eight hours on 16.4-ounce Coleman propane cylinder.

We just returned from a reasonably cold Tennessee campout. At 44, I am not interested in being uncomfortably cold. This product warmed our tent through the night with one tank change. It was not to heavy to pack in. The only concern is carbon monoxide emission. That can be avoided with opening the tent flaps. Two thumbs up for the tent heater!!!!!

Had a friend bring this over from the USA as they are un-obtainable in NZ. I wanted a heater for our small caravan when we go on winter camping trips. It's great! Doesn't use much gas, is relatively safe and heats our wee caravan a treat. Too bad Coleman has decided to discontinue the product.Customer Review: Great heat, best price

I did months of research and found this to be the best product around. IT not only has a great BTU rating, but a fan that can work off of batteries or adapter (not included, oh well). I went camping with my family up in Big Bear Ca and this heater worked great! I used one bottle of gas before I left the house to get rid of the burning smell. I love it and wouldnt go camping without it. Easy to use.
