Customer Review: Greatest flashlight in the world - minus one difficulty Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
This IS the greatest flashlight in the world. Bright W-I-D-E beam in front and the nifty opton of illuminating whatever with the underneath (or side depending on direction of the flashlight) with a bright flouresant light! Sure, its heavy (4 D batteries/not included). Sure its big (so you can find it easily/won't lose it). SO great the wide flat bottom gives the option of setting it on a flat surface. Real quality. Will last forever.
ONE PROBLEM - very hard to get the batteries in. You'd figure it out after 20 minutes (or more) of swearing at the flashlight, but here you go.
Take a coin and with the edge of it in the slot of the screw, REMOVE the little screw on the underside. Remove it, not just 1/4 turn like the directions say - that won't work. PUT THE SCREW SOMEPLACE WHERE YOU WON'T LOSE IT.
Then, jimmy the light off the front. Inside there is a panel. You need to "fiddle" with the latch inside/not obvious that it is a latch on the side of this "panel" inside until the thing pops open. Push or pull the little plastic part - the only part that will move at all. There, I think you've got it (sorry, lame description)...I'm doing the best I can. You will figure it out.
Put batteries in.
Replace front light/cover and go find that screw. Put that back in.
Be happy.
I am.

Customer Review: Don't need electricity Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
GREAT FLASHLIGHT. I HATE TO BE CAUGHT IN DARK AND THIS CAN BE HELD LIKE A REGULAR FLASHLIGHT OR JUST SLIDE BUTTON AND SET ON TABLE OR FLOOR AND YOU HAVE ALL THE LIGHT U NEED from front lights TO HELP U THRU UNTIL POWER IS BACK. WE HAVE HORSE FARM, QUITE LARGE AND THE STABLE IS ABOUT QUARTER OF FOOTBALL FIELD FROM BACK OF HOUSE BY POOL. I CAN SET IT ON THE TABLE AND SEE ONE SIDE OF FIELD AND BARN OR TURN BIG FRONT LIGHT ON AND I CAN CHECK ALL THE DOORS ON THE OTHER END. IN THE SUMMER, SOME OF THE HORSES LIKE TO STAY OUT IN THE PASTURE AND THIS LIGHT LETS ME CHECK IT AND I CAN MAKE OUT ALL THE HORSES THAT WERE TURNED OUT. I GAVE IT 4 STARS ONLY BECAUSE THE LIGHT COULD LAST LONGER AND GIVES NO WARNING IT;S GOING TO QUIT. I TRAIN AND SHOW HUNTERS AND THEY SOMETIMES WILL JUMP ONE OF THE FENCES AND GALLOP DOWN INTO THE BIG FIELD AND GO VISIT THE NEIGHBORS. I LIKE THE SHAPE AND VERSATILITY AND IT IS BRIGHT. I think it may be the kind that sinks but don't take it topside where it may fall overboard and I must admit I did not read if it floated or not.
Customer Review: Pretty good in an emergency Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
After I'd lost power for the third time this winter I decided I was tired of candles and their little points of light, and wanted something that would illuminate a whole room. The fluorescent u-tube hidden underneath does a wonderful job of that. The wide beam path light is also surprisingly effective, considering the 2-cell handheld of the same design is pathetic in the extreme.
This is a good one, you'll not be sorry. I'm already thinking about getting another.
