I bought this knife in the event that I would be somewhere that wouldnt allow me to carry my firearm, i could carry this for self defense; I find myself now carrying BOTH! this is a great weapon for close quarters or when you wouldnt want to use a firearm (too many people around) in a self-defense situation.
tip: you can carry this concealed if you flip the belt loop down/backwards, and tuck the knife into your back pocket, throw your shirt over it, noone knows you have it =) and beleive it or not it does not affect sitting or driving if done right.
Well balanced, even for someone who never threw before! With some internet-read techniques i can get -most- of my throws to stick. Fear not though with the strength and durability of this knife should your attacker be hit with the blunt side, their attack will not persist. hitting handle side first several inchs from the top of a standard 2x4 i actually split the board. and it was a new board (not some dry rotted piece of wood)
I find myself using it more and more as a utility knife as a companion to my standard folding pocket knife as well.
So weither its carry (concealed or open), throwing for fun, or utility, this is a great knife to own!
