Customer Review: Best knife you can buy for the price, but not for pocket carry.

For the price, one cannot buy a better knife.
Upon looking at all the other reviews on this knife I found a lot of people deducted a star because of either the size or design. Anyone worth their salt should take these into consideration before they buy the knife. It is a large knife, and the replica design was not replicated to be state of the art.
This knife is not really for one's pocket, because it is rather large. I would consider the Cold Steel Kudu to be more of a work/utility knife. It would be handy in the glove box, or the garage.
Mine came out of the box sharp, but not razor sharp; however, after honing the blade for 2 or 3 minutes mine was very very sharp.
Again, for the price ($7.99) one cannot buy a better knife. Opinel makes good value knives, and even those cost $4 or $5 more for a smaller knife (and those are kind of large for pocket carry as well). I would recommend this knife to anyone who wants a basic knife to use and abuse.
If you are looking for a basic all-purpose pocket knife, buy yourself a Victorinox Swiss Army knife for a few more bucks....
Description of Cold Steel Kudu Lock Folder Knife
In South Africa, an enexpensive ring lock folder is sold everywhere. It's a good design, but it's constructed from sub-standard materials, is poorly made and is overpriced. And yet, millions of these knives are sold each year. Cold Steel thought they could do better and did. The Cold Steel Kudu, takes some cues from its South African competition, however the Cold Steel version is vastly superior. Cold Steel has a Krupp 4116 Stainles steel flat ground blade, heat t r eated to RE 56-57 for better edge holding ability and ease of re-shrapening, and a thin razer sharp edge.Hunting Knives
