I bought this portable to take the chill out of my garage (even in Florida it's been getting a mite-bit chilly in the mornings.) It does the job quite well. Being infra-red it's a bit directional and would work well as a pipe thawer if needed. A good buy, don't know why I waited so long to get one.
Description of Century 14,000 BTU Infrared Heater
Warm up with the Century Radiant Propane Heater. It easily attaches to the top of a bulk propane cylinder with P.O.L. type connection. Pressure regulated for efficient fuel flow in cold temperatures or high altitude delivers adjustable 10,000 to 14,000 BTU adjustable warmth. The unique 3-screen design makes this heater wind-proof. Designed with a safety shut-off valve to automatically cut off gas flow if burner flame is extinguished. For OUTDOOR USE ONLY.Pressure regulated for efficient fuel flow in cold temperatures or at high altitude, this infra-red heater attaches to the top of a bulk propane cylinder with a P.O.L.-type connection and can be adjusted to give off 10,000 to 14,000 BTUs. Its design makes the heater windproof. A safety shutoff valve automatically cuts off gas flow if the flame is extinguished. The heater is 7.1 inches in diameter and weighs 2.75 pounds.
