Customer Review: Look out Popeye!!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I have used many different products from Iron Mind and let me tell you they have the market when it comes to grip strength training equipment!! If your serious about grip training, the Captains of Crush (COC) grippers will take you to another level of strength. They sell about 10 different COC grippers but the main ones you should have in your home gym are these 5:
T = 100lbs
#1 = 140lbs
#2 = 195lbs
#3 = 280lbs
#4 = 365lbs
OK, so the #4 is more of a novelty item because I will never close it with 1 hand, but it's fun to see my buddies struggle trying to close it with 2 hands!! You can work your way through the ranks of these to achieve massive gripping power, and each gripper has a workout routine on the packaging to get you started. Note: These are not made for the desk jockey or the couch potato to sit around and smash out 100 reps in each hand. Go to Wal-Mart and buy those cheap plastic ones for that nonsense. These are precision crafted machined aluminum and steel grippers that are built to last, and for serious training!! So add these to your arsenal of training implements and smash them until you look like Popeye!! Toot! Toot!

Customer Review: Quality
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I bought the "sports" gripper (80 pounds) in December some time. I had used the cheapy ones before, and it would take hundreds of reps to reach failure. You can instantly feel the difference in the CoC grippers - these things ooze quality, from the knurled grip to the embossed lettering on the bottom.

These things are definitely humbling. I worked my way up to be able to do dozens of reps with my right hand on the 80 pound sport gripper (probably should have opted for the trainer instead, but I didn't want to start off with one too hard).

Well, I got the number 1 for Christmas and this thing is a beast. I have only closed it completely once or twice and it'll be awhile before I can do reps on this. My left hand can only close it half way.

One word of warning - the knurled grip is going to tear up your hands for the first couple weeks, but then you'll get some macho looking calluses on your hands.

I'm looking forward to the day I can move up to number 2, but I think that will be some months from now. I definitely feel my grip strength has improved as a result of using this product.

Customer Review: Don't overestimate your grip strength.

I ordered the Trainer and #1 grippers on Tues, Jan 26th and they were delivered on Fri, Jan 29th. That was ground shipping... so I'm already happy.

These grippers are serious business. I'm doing rehab for my left arm due to an elbow injury. I knew that arm would be weak. I have an EXCUSE for it to be weak. No excuse for my right arm though. Guess what, first day in I cannot close the #1 even one time. I'm very close but still can't do it. I can rep the Trainer 10x for 3 sets... but still can't close the #1.

These grippers are no joke. I'm already addicted. I will close the #3 one day. My girlfriend told me I sound obsessed. I took it as a compliment.

If you've ever been a dead fish with a handshake, had a jar best you, or just could not loosen that bolt no matter how hard you tried... GET THESE GRIPPERS!

As a side note... unless you already feel like you have a strong grip start out with the Trainer. I bought the Trainer and #1 and honestly, it might have been a good idea to get the Sport as well to use as rehab for my left hand.

Customer Review: Great Gripper
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I was searching for a durable quality gripper that took some power to close. I figured that I would have no problem closing the Trainer and figured I would buy the Trainer and the Level One gripper. Glad I bought the Trainer. The Level 1 is pretty tough to close and I like to do it a few times then go work on the Trainer.

As for quality like Mr. Baotic said, these are high quality. Now that I have two I want the whole set. I've heard people complain that the grips are a little rough, mine weren't that sharp so I have a feeling each unit is different. I understand the theory that they are rougher so they don't slip when you sweat. Like I said I haven't had a problem with them. If you want a quality, durable, gripper buy from the Captain's of Crush line. I know I will never go back.

If you are really interested there is a process to get certified for closing the 3rd gripper. I know that's my goal. If you are from the Northwest there is an independent site that certifies people that close the second one and on. It's definitely something to work towards.

Customer Review: Great for getting started
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I'm really glad that I purchased this product. I'm not a hand grip enthusiast--meaning that I'm probably not ever going to get up to the Level 3 or Level 4 CoC grips--but I do like to work on my grip strength when I'm in the car and at home. It seems to help me avoid knuckle and wrist pain after I play sports or work on my car.

The normal store-bought grippers are still helpful for a warm-up. Since they were no longer a challenge for me to close, I wanted to find something with more tension. The Level 1 grips have plenty of tension for me. I've been using them about twice a day for a month or so, and now I can close them (i.e., clink the handles together) about 8-11 times or so in a row. By way of comparison, I can close the store-bought ones with a foam handle about 30-50 times in a row with each hand.

If this is your first look into heavy-duty grippers, I would highly recommend this product. You will notice a difference in your grip in a few weeks. Even if you can't close them all the way at first, just keep trying and you'll get there fast.
