Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America. What are phthalates? Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates. What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from? The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance. About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. Sports reviews of CamelBak BPA-Free Better Bottle with Classic CapCustomer Review: Really nicely designed lids! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Nice job Camelbak! Great packaging. Camelbak wraps each bottle in a clear plastic protective sheet that both protects the product and eliminates problems with those annoying sticky product labels that are often so difficult to remove. The best part of the bottles are the lids. Just stick your index finger into the hole that also serves as a carabineer hook and spin the lid on and off. Best lid that I have ever used. Really easy and fast to open and close. The one liter bottle is too tall for my dishwasher top rack which is where Camelbak says the bottle must be placed. Buy these bottles for the nifty lids. Oh... and no BPA!
Customer Review: The best water bottle for work Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is the best water bottle for work.
If you drink a lot of water like me, this is a really well made, practical water bottle. The handle in the lid is great, you can put one finger though it and carry it easily, even if you are carrying a lot of other items. The handle also makes screwing the lid on and off fast, once you get it started you just put a finger in it and spin. The wide lid is perfect, makes cleaning easy. No leaks. The .75L bottle base is too big for must car cup holders, you might want the smaller size if you plan on using it in the car. I leave my bottle at work so it is not an issue.
Customer Review: As good as Nalgene's Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I own few of these as well as the Nalgene water bottles, both brands are durable, leakproof, & easy to clean. Generally, I fill it up w/ hot tap water & just shake it a bit to clean; once every 1-2 weeks, I'll fill it up w/ boiling water & leave it for 15 minutes to give it a more thorough cleaning. Although this one looks prettier, I do like the convenience of Nalgene's attached lid design. I use both brands b/c of their differing bottle sizes. Choose for yourself, you can't go wrong w/ either.
Customer Review: Excellent Product Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
For several years, I've used Siggs bottles from Switzerland which are made with a thin, light-weight metal, but do not recover from being banged around. The CamelBak, BPA-Free bottle does not wind up dented when dropped or knocked about. Furthermore, the neck is large and easy to clean without having to buy a special brush. The CamelBak has no metallic taste, and I can even slide the strap on my pack through the generous cap opening without having to also get a metal carabiner. Great product.
Customer Review: Great Bottle - Easy to Use! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
You know how it is when you're drinking from a regular water bottle while you're driving? You raise the bottle and your hand and the bottle blocks your view - not recommended.
Since this bottle has a built in straw, it's easy to sip from it while keeping the bottle down. Over half a dozen other friends from the gym and from work have since bought the same bottle since they saw me using it. Amazon has the best price (it can be as much as $ 14 in some sports shops). A definite buy!
