Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America.
What are phthalates?
Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates.
What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from?
The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance.

Once my daughter started crawling and grabbing everything she could get her hands on, she would particularly grab for my camelbak better bottle. We then noticed that she knew how to drink out of it. So over the summer I would bring my bottle everywhere and she could get a few sips of water while we were out. I eventually decided to buy one for her. So I bought the .5 bottle for her in berry. I fill it up each day with the amount of water recommended for her age and leave it with her toys. Throughout the day she will go for sips. It is just the right size for her to hold (could be a little smaller). We love it. Now that she is 10months and teething she also loves biting on the bite valve as a teether. I drink alot of water and have had this bottle for over 3 years with no problems. I probably use it 5-6 days a week. It has some scuffs, but the plastic is really durable. Sometimes if you leave it in a hot car, it will build up pressure and leak some, but other than that, it is pretty leak-proof. I love it because there is no lid to mess with, just flip it up to open. Make sure and clean the bite valve and straw periodically as it seems to get black mold/gunk buildup. I clean mine with Q-tips and hot water. The only minor problems/annoyances are: It doesn't fit in the cup-holder of the car and the straw doesn't reach to the bottom of the bottle. Nothing to make you not consider buying it though :o)Customer Review: You really drink more.

It doesn't seem like something as simple as a bottle/bite valve design would dramatically increase your water intake. But it works. Whether you're using it for working out, hiking or just at your desk, you'll find yourself constantly sipping huge amounts of H2O.
I used to use a Sigg bottle. But the huge benefit this one has is that you don't have to unscrew and replace the cap every time you take a sip. So you end up sipping more frequently. Thus drinking more.
The straw is wide and the bite valve flows freely, so that helps a lot too.
It never leaks. It has zero taste. And because it's clear, you can see how much you're drinking.

Needed a water bottle to go with my water cooler. Stopped buying so many water bottles. Going green for health,environment, and economics.
This bottle's greatest feature is the bite valve. Makes drinking from it a pleasurable experience. You will look forward to drinking from it.I also like the way it tucks in and is protected when in the car seat or if bottle accidently drops on the floor.
Has a hook for easy carry and transport.
Great size. Big mouth to insert ice cubes if required.
Well made.Great quality. Leaking -forgettaboutit.
Only negative is that it doesn't fit in the car cup holder. Not an issue for me.

CamelBak is the best in the business for a reason... They have the best products. I know this is just a water bottle but I think this is the best I've ever owned.
No need to tip bottle to get water, keep it upright and it'll work great.
Hard plastic bottle is strong and holds up well against repeated dropping, cause I'm clumsy.
Lanyard on top of bottle makes it easy to attach to your hiking gear. The bite valve is great and easy to use.
