In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America. What are phthalates? Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates. What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from? The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance. About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. Sports reviews of CamelBak BPA-Free Better Bottle with Bite ValveCustomer Review: Happy with another Camelbak product Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've got more than a few Camelbak products, so when it came to finding a replacement Nalgene-type water bottle, I thought I'd try Camelbak. I opted for the 1 liter bottle with the carabiner clip so I can attach it to the outside of my camera bag (as opposed to having it inside, where it might potentially leak and ruin a few thousand dollars of camera gear.
The bottle itself is pretty sturdy, feeling as rock solid as Nalgene bottles. The straw is a good concept, considering my "drinking problem" leads to me spilling water all over myself with the traditional wide-mouthed Nalgene bottles (and to a certain degree, the small mouthed ones too).
I'm happy, and the price is right. CamelBak makes another good product that I'm content with.
Customer Review: Finally a bottle I can bring everywhere and wash easily Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Drinking water is fun again! After trying 3 different kind of other bottles, they failed miserably. Stainless steel gets rusty, some other plastic are cheap and/or not BPA free: This one is the ONE everybody is looking for.
I was looking for 1.5 liter but 1 liter is already great for the quality of the product. The plastic quality is very good. You don't hurt or damage your teeth and/or gums while drinking, so it's all good for me. Drinking water with a bottle can be pretty damaging with time but this bottle is the real SMART one. I have enough water for 8 hours and I don't feel like drinking rust. BPA free is a must have though, if you think about buying a similar, cheaper bottle. The price seems right though. It's already worth it after 12 fill ups.
Customer Review: Favorite new water bottle Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought this bottle to keep me hydrated at work. Since it has a straw, I figured it was a little more "civilized" for the office than a squeeze-type bottle. This was the first CamelBak product I had bought, so it took me a day or two to get used to the bite valve.
I bought the 0.75 L size, and will probably be investing in the 1 L size soon, as I drink way more water than I had anticipated. I like the volume markings on the side, which allow me to easily see how much I've consumed.
I have had no problems with any weird smells or mold or anything, but have been taking apart the bite valve and straw and washing them each day. I don't have a dishwasher, but hand washing seems to be taking care of everything.
Customer Review: Perfect for use when driving. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I used to use Sigg bottles, which I loved. But taking off the caps while driving meant that I had to take both hands off the wheel to twist the cap off. With the Camelbak Better Bottle, I can leave the spout turned up so I only have to lift it to my mouth. Only one hand leaves the wheel and I never have to take my eyes off the road. I also don't have to worry about it spilling while the cap is off because it is leak proof.
The only con I have found with this bottle is that it will sometimes leak the small amount of water that is still in the bite valve if you leave it on its side. This is at most a tablespoon, so it's never been a problem for me. If you have anything other than water in it though, it might be more of a problem.
Customer Review: Hands down the BEST H20 BOTTLE ever made. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is by far the best water bottle I have ever owned. Slick design and rugged construction make this bottle stand out from the pack. It looks great and works great. What more could you ask for?
Pros:
High quality lid for a tight fit and no leaks
Bite-valve and straw, so no need to tip to drink
Loop on lid makes carrying and strapping to your pack a breeze
Loads of colors to choose from
BPA Free!
Cons:
The straw could be a little longer, but it's a non-issue when you consider the over-all quality of this product.
Stop paying for throw-away water bottles! This is the last water bottle you will ever own (unless you lose it, so be careful!).
