Description of Bushnell Yardage Pro Golf Pinseeker 1500 Slope Edition Laser Rangefinder with Slope CalculatorThe measure of success-distanceadjusted for elevation. Introducing the world's only golf laser rangefinder to compensate for changes in elevation. Using a digital inclinometer, the Pinseeker 1500 with slope+/- it tells you exactly how far to play it. So you will never again question the range at the top of your swing. And nothing cuts strokes like confidence. Your Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 is an advanced premium laser rangefinder comprised of digital technology that allows range readings from 5 to 1,500 yards. Measuring 1.7 by 5.1 by 3.7 inches, the 10-ounce Pinseeker 1500 delivers superb and accurate range performance to +/- one yard. The Pinseeker 1500 features Selective Targeting Modes, superb optical quality, 100% waterproof construction, and Bushnell's RainGuard coating. The Pinseeker 1500 emits invisible, eye-safe, infrared energy pulses. Its Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) results in instantaneous and accurate readings every time. Sophisticated digital technology instantaneously calculates distances by measuring the time it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder to the target and back. The ranging accuracy of the Pinseeker 1500 is plus or minus one yard under most circumstances. The maximum range of the instrument depends on the reflectivity of the target. The maximum distance for most objects is 1,000 yards, while for highly reflective objects the maximum is 1,500 yards. The Pinseeker 1500 features a powerful 7x magnification monocular for viewing your target. Optics are fully multi-coated, allowing maximum light transmission for optimum brightness, superb resolution, and contrast for a clear vivid image even in low-light conditions such as dusk or dawn. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is mounted within the optical system and, when activated, displays a reticle for targeting, yards and meters, and Mode indicators. Laser Rangefinder Features Standard with Automatic Scan (A) Scan across the course while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distance between you and your target. Meters/Yards (B) You can quickly choose between these standard measuring units with a simple press of a button. Reticle (C) The distance to objects targeted in these crosshairs will be displayed on the Distance Readout with the press of a button. Battery Indicator (D) Flashes when battery power is low. Target Quality Gauge (E) Gauge indicating amount of energy pulses being received back from the target. Pinseeker 1500 Targeting Modes BullsEye Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display. . Brush Ignores the foreground, such as brush, boulders and tree branches, and provides distances on the LCD display to background objects only. . PinSeeker Designed exclusively with the bottom of the cup in mind, this mode allows easy acquisition of the flag without inadvertently capturing background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display. . Slope+/- Measures slope, +/- one degree of angle, and compensated range, based upon ball trajectory and type of club used. All shown on LCD display. . Laser Rangefinder Tech Talk A laser rangefinder is a distance-measuring instrument that uses laser technology to calculate the distance to targeted objects. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, and the distance is displayed instantaneously on a built-in, through-the-lens Liquid Crystal Display. How a Laser Rangefinder Works Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/- 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed. Reflectivity of Target Types Because rangefinders "bounce" a laser beam off the target in order to take a measurement, their range is partially determined by the reflectivity of the target. In other words, hard or "reflective" targets -- like a rock cliff or semi-truck -- can be measured at greater distances than soft surface targets, like a deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to frequently estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. By "pre-measuring" ranges to spots where a trophy is likely to appear, they can concentrate on making an accurate shot when the moment of truth arrives.
Sports reviews of Bushnell Yardage Pro Golf Pinseeker 1500 Slope Edition Laser Rangefinder with Slope CalculatorCustomer Review: Pinseeker 1500-Awesome-Worth the extra money! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Surprised my husband with the Pinseeker 1500 for Christmas, we "BOTH" love it!! It is soooo "user friendly" and best of all "visually" user friendly! GREAT for the visually impaired over age "40" group who depend on the "Walgreen's" reading glasses! No need for glasses or lenghty instruction books-just aim at the flag and click the button-shows two distances. The actual distance and the distance it should play because of the slope!! Having the SLOPE FINDER is the most important aspect-this is what gives you the ACCURATE yardage. The "slope" differance" is what normally what makes the difference of which club to use. Many of the cheaper models do not allow for the slope-so what good is that, there's plenty yard markers on a course? It was fun to see what the course yardage markers read and then what the scope finder tells you. Makes your club selection so much more accurate! It's price is on the higher side, but for the quality, it's WELL worth it. My husband had tried a friends cheaper version, he actually could not use it because it was so hard visually to read. Before you buy one, be sure to check that out! Word of warning, your golfing partners will love to be in your golf group, asking you the yardage on "their" shots too!!
As another viewer mentioned-it's the best club in the bag, we HIGHLY reccomend it!!! Now....if it could only make the ball actually go to that exact spot, we'd all be happy golfers!!!
Customer Review: Pinseeker great, slope calculator not so much Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This Bushnell 1500 Rangefinder with Slope was a birthday replacement for an older model I've had for years. The pinseeker mode was a wonderfully pleasant surprise. With my old model, sometimes I'd try to shoot a flag from about 200 yards out and, if it was hanging limp, I might "shoot" it 10 or 15 times and not get it. But with this new rangefinder it's not a problem because I just have to point in the direction of the flag and keep moving it around a little bit until it nails the flag, then promptly displays the shorter of the yardages it obtained. Now I can shoot from any distance and get the exact yardage within 3 seconds at most. I promise you this feature alone makes it worth any extra money over buying a rangefinder that can't make these "continuous" readings. But I now wish my wife hadn't spent the extra money to get the slope feature. It works sure enough, but I find it of little or no value. I'm a golfer, after all, and I know pretty well how much club to add on or take off for most slopes better than a robot calculation based strictly on the angle of the slope. For example, it doesn't calculate wind or lack thereof, and that's just as important as slope to a successful golf shot. Great product!
Customer Review: Solid, accurate, priceless Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've owned this range finder for two years now and love it. It is very rugged (fell off the cart twice), very accurate, and the slope function gives you information that you just can't get any other way.
Our country club has yardage tags on all of the sprinkler heads, but how often does you ball end up near one of them?
We like having the ability to find the yardage to any spot or object on the course without being limited to those items that the GPS company has put into their system. It makes a huge difference knowing the yardage to the current location of the pin (since it changes on a daily basis) compared to GPS units that only give you distance to the center, front or back of the green.
And why should you have to pay a monthly or annual maintenance fee to a GPS company after you purchase their device? That makes no sense to me.
The only challenge is that you have to have a steady hand to lock in on distant targets. But then, you have to have steady hand to score low, so it's good practice.
While it is true that you can't use this in a tournament because of the slope feature, for your regular golfing needs, it can't be beat.
Customer Review: Bushnel Pinseeker 1500 Rangefinder w/ Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought this rangefinder to take to Myrtle Beach for a golf outing. Since we play a different course every day, I hoped it would give me true yardages on a course I hadn't played before. It out performed my expectations. Every golfer knows that the yardages on the course are to the center of the green. But some greens are 1 to 2 club lengths more. This rangefinder gave perfect yardages for me.
This rangefinder has three modes of operation. You can use it for hunting with the first mode, which just gives you yardage to any target you aim at. The second mode is the pin seeker mode for golf. You aim at the flag and press the button and it gives you the yardage to the flag. The third mode is the pin seeker w/slope mode for golf. You also aim at the flag and it gives you the distance to the pin plus or minus the slope to the green(this mode is illegal for USGA tournaments).
It was very helpful off the tee. You could aim it at a fairway bunker or hazard from the tee and you could get a yardage that would let you know whether you could carry it.
I found it very easy to operate and a great product.
Customer Review: I have no regrets Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I thought I would be too lazy to use a rangefinder for all my shots. I thought my hands would shake too much for me to get an accurate reading every time. I was wrong on all accounts. After just a few minutes of practice at objects in my neighborhood my hand became steady enough for the rangefinder. Due to the "pinseeker" technolgy, you don't need a perfectly steady hand. Once on the course, i used it for all shots under 200 yards. It takes a matter of seconds to get your hands steady and get an instant reading. I was concerned I would slow down the group behind me. That was never the case. The group in front of me actually took longer trying to find sprinkler heads to get a distance estimation. I would now recommend this over a GPS unit because I had the ability to find distances to bunkers and other objects (not all GPS units have all objects listed). Finally the slope reading was awesome (GPS units cannot do that). I had a serious advantage over my friend because not only did I have distance, but I had adjusted distance due to the slope readings. This unit was worth the extra money.
