Sports reviews of Bushnell H2O 10x42 Porro Prism Waterproof/Fogproof Binocular

Customer Review: A tremendous product for the price
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I know binocs as I have three and have bought many more for others, and have used them for many hours a day while birding. My best glass costs 20 times what this one does and is, admittedly, better optically. But not by a bunch. This binoc has surprisingly good optical performance, reasonably good short focus distance, easy to use eyecups so it works well with eyeglasses or without eyeglasses, is waterproof, compact, fairly light, and focuses easily. It "folds" to a eye to eye distance that will work with smaller people than some binocs. When I need another spare, this is the one I will buy (we bought this one for our granddaughter). I think my wife will buy one for use as her spare and to take to the theatre. It performs so much better than the smaller ones. Based on my experince, I think you have to pay over $350 for other binocs to even come close to the performance of this binoc.

This binoc will easily satisfy most buyers with its performance, price, and warranty. You just cannot go wrong with this one. Until now there was no really good, cheap, roof prism binocular. Now there is.

Customer Review: Good Binoculars for Kids
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Our non-profit bought 10 pairs of these for the 9-12 year-olds in our outdoor education program. They have been great and so far (6mo) all are still working and the kids love them. The bag they come with is just fabric so it offers little protection but the binocular is rubber coated and has caps for both front and eyepiece lenses which attach to the neck cord affording a reasonable chance they will be protected when the kids bump them on a rock. The view is about right for birdwatching and astronomy. Field of view and brightness is good too. The size and weight are both small enough to cary and store easily. They are much better than any of the cheap "kids" binoculars and a much better return for the money.

Customer Review: Great Binucular
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I bought this Binocular for my recent trip to Hawaii, and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. The 42 mm lens made it easy to see stuff even when the light was minimal. The extendable lens cups is a wonderful feature especially if you wear glasses. The focus was easy to perform. It's size was relatively small for this type (Roof Prism) and the power of 8X42mm. I have not soaked it in water yet, but the lable says it should survive. All in all, it looks like a nice, well build, and fairly priced binocular. I would recommend it in a blink of an eye. However, if you have shaky hands you probably would rather get a less magnification power (say 6X) as it may be a problem if you cannot keep it steady.

Customer Review: Great Value
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This is a great product, very well built that meet and exceeds published specifications. Was bought for an Amazon trip where it was constantly banged, Droped and in contact with water and extreme humidity. Always delivered a crisp view with absolutely no leaks when in contact with water. It has a good magnification with a great viewing angle. This binoculars are very comfortable on the grip and a very acceptable weight that let you use it with comfort for hours. I consider this product a great value for the price tag, I completely recommend it.

Customer Review: Bushnell H2O 10x42
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

So far I have used this product in the field on two ocations, for multiple day trips. During the first trip, the temperature was in the high 30s, and there was a little fogging of the eye lenses. This was external, not internal, so I used an anti-fog lens product for that problem, and it went away. This past weekend the temperature was in the teens, with snow, and these binoculars worked as advertised. Very clear view and well constructed. I am happy with the transaction and the price.
