The Xtract is the perfect tool for my needs! I've been a fan of multi-tools for a long time, and I've bought everything from the Swiss Champ, Leatherman series, Gerber, Sheffield, Coast, and Buck series. Each of the major brands has well designed tools, so its up to the user to determine what suits him or her best. I've found the Buck to be very strong, yet its light enough to carry all day, and its ballistic nylon holster allows for either vertical or horizontal carry, a most useful feature. The tools are few, but superbly made; a razor sharp 3 inch partially serrated blade, a sturdy pair of screwdrivers, a can opener, and a pliers. All tools can be opened and closed one-handed, and the lanyard attachment can serve as an excellent glass breaker, so it's really another tool! Some comments state that the pliers is too small to exert a reasonable grip, but if you grip the handle with your fingers instead of your thumb you'll find you can double the grip strength of the pliers, enough to torque loose some stubborn bolts! All in all, its a tool that reflects its design philosophy; build a multitool with a few critical/most used tools really well vs. a multitool with lots of implements but with possible design and quality limitations.
