Sports reviews of Brunton Echo 7x18 Pocket ScopeCustomer Review: Extending The Senses of a Non-hearing Person Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I met my deaf pen pal, Braz, online. We've been friends for years. I began sending him birthday presents and Christmas gifts when he was a teenager, an ambitious creativity guy. Well, for his 21st birthday I didn't know what to get him. I thought, I love my earphones I got online, major major beauty of sound, and thought HOW CAN I ENHANCE MY FRIEND'S SENSES? Duh!? Well, his eyes work good! So, I sent this Burunton Echo 7X18 pocket scope to him, and he raves about it now. He sees things in more detain that were just on the fringe of his vision acuity zone...now his visual expertise is enhanced when and where he wants it to be using the handy scope which he keeps with him all the time. It works for hearing people too, but I wanted to put a little LIGHT on the idea for the wonderful feeling of being given a gift that was personalized in it's thoughtfulness to my friend, "Nephew" Braz...
He uses it every day. He rated it five stars.
Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is just what I was looking for; something to get me a little bit closer to an object, and be portable enough to have on me at all times.
I can't tell you how many times I've wished I'd had binoculars with me. Whether I'm at a sport event, on the beach, camping, touring, or just need to see if the vehicle up ahead is a police car or not. This is the perfect "with-you-at-all-times" gadget, and inexpensive enough to throw one in the glove box and keep another on your belt.
The optical clarity is very good. I can make out a license plate from over 100 feet. The close-up is spectacular! Another reviewer said they used it to look at their fish, so I tried it with my tank and I noticed details on my 4 year old Angels that I've never seen before.
I don't see how you could go wrong for the price. Buy a couple as stocking stuffers!
Customer Review: Great little monocular for the money Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I was looking for an alternative to Nikon's excellent 5X and 7X High Grade Monoculars when I found the Brunton Echo 7X18 Pocket Scope. The Nikon units go for $200+ and are worth the price for "pro-level" super-close focus, low flare, crisp images. Nikon 5x15 High Grade Monocular But for $30 the Brunton EchoBrunton Echo 7x18 Pocket Scope is a "must have" for casual field trips. The Brunton's optics are good and the 13 inch close focus works great for observing fine detail on insects, plants, etc. For long-term serious use Nikon's high end stuff is hard to beat. But for $30, Brunton's little Pocket Scope does the job quite well.
Customer Review: Very hard to beat for boating application (reasons why) Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
When sailing, a monocular might make optical focus quicker than with binoculars, and this monocular in particular makes great sense. Here are some boating factors for the Brunton Echo: (1) This can cost $13 more elsewhere (before shipping). (2) Lanyard support and case is handy, and (3) customer reviews seem good for the price and seem accurate. (4) Another factor is 7x magnification - the max advisable for boats (given motion, a higher magnification is much harder to use). (5) The clarity here is really good for a budget scope, and (impressively) one can use it (likely) while wearing sunglasses or goggles. (6) Single-hand use is easy. (7) Five stars from me in the low-budget boating category.
Customer Review: 7 x 18 Echo Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
For the price, this was such a good deal. It's only a 7x, but it really brings things into focus that otherwise could barely be seen. We live on a ranch and it has saved me a lot of miles in checking on animals. So much easier to carry than the 7x binoculars (which never got carried), it's about the same size as a 2oz hand samitizer bottle, and comes with a nice little pouch. My husband perfers a higher magnification, but I tend to have a little hand shake so this is just right.
