We use these Focus Mitts in our dojo and, despite constant use, they have held up well to some serious abuse. These have a great "old school" look and feel about them that I really like. The materials, stitching, and construction are good quality, contributing to the overall durability.
From the striker's point of view: These have a flat surface that has very little give and that can be a little rough on the knuckles if used bare fisted. The relatively small size makes these a bit of a tough target for kicks, but it does force accuracy.
From the holder's point of view: these feel awkward on the hand as the leather finger slots are very stiff and have almost no give at all. The wrist strap is helpful to keep the mitt from being forced off the hand, especially from kicks and uppercuts. The mitt has little padding so most of the impact is transmitted to the holder, which is my biggest complaint.
