Customer Review: Almost perfect home machine

The only thing I wish this treadmill included was an option that would allow me to save MY settings for a workout. There are several pre-programmed workouts, and I've tried most or all of them. Over time, my speed is increasing, so I'm not using the pre-programmed settings as-is. I typically have to do one or more button presses each time the treadmill changes to another part of a program, in order to increase the speed to where I want it.
Aside from that, however, this is a wonderful machine. Our old treadmill had finally died after 10 years or so. And I hadn't REALLY been doing enough of a workout on it. With the Bowflex Series 3, I set the treadmill for the program and time I want and start working out. By doing this every day, I've started to slowly lose a little weight, and more importantly, my HDL (the good cholesterol) has increased over the past few months from 38 to a current 54 (goal is at least HDL of 60). I absolutely credit this machine for the substantial improvement in my health.

I have to say this is a great product. What surprised me, and 4 other people I have shown it to, is how QUIET it is. Sure it hums. But its much quieter than its contemporaries. You can watch TV without headphones, for example, or talk to people, or whatever. Very quiet.
Its great for walking. The deck is a bit short for me to feel comfortable running (I'm 6'1") but my wife has a much shorter stride. But I only walk anyway as explained in the next paragraph.
As a side note, I made a monitor mount, and put a 19" LCD on the front (the three series lacks the center fan, so its ok). Then I put a brace over the handlebars for the keyboard and thus - I type while I walk. or do any other computer related work (anything artistic is impossible, but browsing, email, etc is very easy). I can get in up to 15 miles of walking a day that way. Otherwise, i wouldn't have time to walk. (I office from home, by the way).

I looked in Consumer Reports for the best treadmill for my dollar and decided to buy this model. I absolutely love it! It was very well priced through Amazon.com and I thought the shipping was very fast.(About two weeks which is not much considering the weight). It is very heavy and well constructed. It does need to be put together, but I did it with my twelve year old daughter in about an hour with no difficulty. Everything is so well laid out for you, and the instructions were great! The treadmill is comparable to fitness center models! Very easy to operate. The folding is easy and it comes down very gently. I am very pleased with the Bowflex series 3 treadmill in every aspect and I thank Amazon for making it available for such a good price and free shipping to boot!Customer Review: Bowflex Delivery

Up to the threshold not over it. Since we are in our seventies, we
misunderstood the delivery rule and was shocked when the delivery
men explained that each company has it's own contracts for delivery
to it's customers. It was a bad weather day in Michigan, and
leaving this huge and very heavy box outdoors to get all wet just
seemed so incredable to say the least. Thankfully, seeing that
we would be incapable of moving the box indoors the kind delivery
men pushed the box over the threshold and out of the weather.
Bowflex, you need to make a more reasonable delivery contract.

As can happen sometimes, the first treadmill we received from Amazon was damaged during shipping. Amazon was very efficient and prompt in sending a new one in exchange. A year later and a few days after my warranty expired, I was having trouble with the speed sensor. I spoke with Shannon, Megan and John at Customer Service. All three technicians were very helpful and patient. Shannon went the extra mile and sent replacement parts to me at no charge. This is not the norm and I really appreciated it. I hope it's a long while before I need a new treadmill, however, when I do, I'll be getting a Bowflex and from Amazon.
