I am completely satisfied with this bench. I did a bunch on internet research before buying it. Based on my research, the Bowflex Series 5.1 bench sounded like the best quality bench available for the price and it is. I had two concerns about this bench after reading other reviews: 1) the seam/opening between the seat pad and the back pad would cause discomfort when lifting and 2) the shipping box is cheap and the bench would arrive damaged or with missing parts. On 1) the seam/opening causes zero problem for me. On 2), I put my trust in Amazon to ship it without problem and they delivered.Customer Review: Versatile and very sturdy bench

Ijust recieved the series 5.1.. It was very east to put together and it is a very strong bench. I would say that it is a gym quality bench. I love the various angle that it has and especially the fact that you can tilt the seat which helps save your lower back when doing decline sit ups. It looks very good and if you do not have a room dedicated to exercise, this bench looks good in any corner of the room.
In closing, this is a very good bench well worth the $199. I repeat, this is a very strong bench and you should get years of use out of it. I am very pleased with it.

I'm very impressed with the sturdyness and the high quality build on this bench. It was purchased primarily for use with the Bowflex Selectech Dumbells. We are also using it for situps and my wife has a few excercises she uses also. What I like the most about the 5.1 bench is being able to quickly and effortlessly move the bench to the next position. My friend tried this bench out just once and ordered one. Best price found on a new 5.1 bench was on Amazon at $199.00 with the free super save shipping. This is an awesome bench. The Bowflex SelectTech 5.1 does what I want. It is very stable, with good quality welds and fasteners. The padding and fabric appear to be good quality. It has adequate adjustment for decline and incline. The dimensions are correct. The leg hold down works fine. It folds to a size that stores in a closet.
Unlike all of the cheap quality or heavy, over-priced benches on the market, Bowflex hit this one right on the money. Good design, good construction, good price. It doesn't lift the weights for me, though.

Purchased this for my 16 yr old son, who is a weightlifter, as a Christmas gift. He loves it and has not stopped using it since receiving it. Very solid construction,sharp looking and was assembled in about 20 minutes. No fear of tipping over, as some of the cheaper models seem to do with heavy weights, and back of bench is longer so it fits a man's torso very well compared to alot of benches that seem designed more for a women's length. Highly recommend this for the beginner to the experienced lifter!
