These things are very high quality and work great if you are limited in space. It is like having an entire set of dumbbells. Switching between the weight amounts in quick and easy. I am using these along with the P90X program and I have plenty of time to make the switch to different weights before the next exercise begins. I would highly recommend these dumbbells to anyone else interested in a good dumbbell set who does not want to purchase an entire set of individual dumbbells. These are great weights, I was debating on what to purchase but I decided to go for the SelectTech's because of convenience. I had been using a set of 20 pounds but that just was not enough weight for me unless I wanted to increase reps. Anyways I've been doing the P90X workout routine and these are easy and convienent to change the weight. In short they are quite pricey, but if you were to buy a whole set of seperate dumbbells then the price would sky rocket plus it would take up to much space, as I live in a small house. Okay enough about these. Just buy them if you have the money for it, well worth the money.Customer Review: Size is Not Really an Issue

I did a lot of research on this product and the only issue I wasn't quite sure about was the size (i.e. length)
Even though these dumbbells are BIG, I haven't found the length to be a real issue. Obviously, the length is not a positive attribute, and may make some exercises a little challenging, but I don't really consider the challenge a bad thing. (Though, I have to mention that I'm 6' 3", so it may be different for other folks)
Bottom-line:
If your only concern is size, don't worry about it. These are great well-designed dumbbells, and I strongly recommend them.

THe obvious appeal of these dumbbells is that they take up much less space than a rack of traditional dumbbells. While this was a great benefit for me, I was nervous that these dumbbells would be complicated to use. For anyone who is doing P90X, you know that you have to change weight fast and don't have time to fool around with your dumbbells.
But I was pleasantly surprised to see they worked effortless. It was just a matter of choosing a weight, making the adjustment and you're good to go. I was so amazed and happy.
They might be a bit pricey, but they are so worth it.

These things are amazing. Before I got these I had the Cap dumbbells with the plates and the screw-on stopper. They were great for what they were, but were SUCH a pain when swapping out weights. I do P90X and doing one workout right after another was so tedious because I'd have to pause, unscrew the end, swap the weights, the screw the end back on for each...side...on...each...dumbbell. Ended up adding like 3 min. per workout just to swap out the weights which adds up. With these it's just like "click, click" and you're ready to go. Highly recommended for any home gym.
