Although I have a gym membership, I still like these dumbells for times when the gym is closed or I can't get to the gym. Sometimes I feel like working out at 1:00 in the morning and having these around the house makes it convenient. I didn't buy the stand for them. They easily store on the floor in a corner out of the way. I bought a regular flat bench to use with them and I'm able to get a good workout for most muscles with them. The only con is that there are not a lot of good dumbell leg exercises. Nevertheless it was still worth the money to have some type of gym at home.Customer Review: Fantastic

Sitting down after a brief workout with these dumbells. One word - fantastic. The selector switch has a great feel to it. The mechanism is intuitive and quick to use. The weight categories under 25 lbs have 2.5 increments (wow), and 5 pound increments up to 52.5. Also, the conventional dumbbell shape is pleasing to the eye and familiar in use.
I bought these to do a quick workout at home before going to work, or whenever, to add a challenge to my body between gym visits (which have become less frequent the more busy I get at work), and they work perfectly.

Having moved and redesigned my workout room, I was a little tight for space and had no room for all my equipment. I sold much of what I had including my individual dumbbells and stand.
I saw these Bowflex and thought it was a good idea. All I can say is awesome.
My only complaint is that they feel a little awkward compared to individual dumbbells even more so working out on a bench.
This a great product that I recommend highly. Get the stand as it makes it easier to lift when working out with higher levels.

I've been using these dumbbells for about 2 weeks now and they are fantastic! I've never had any trouble with selecting the weights and with up to 52.5 lbs for each dumbbell, I and most people will never need to worry about whether the maximum weight will be enough unless you are very serious about joining a bodybuilding contest. In that case, you should definitely check out Bowflex SelectTech 1090. The 552s are pricey but if you want top quality adjustable dumbbells that are reliable and durable, then I strongly recommend that you buy these.Customer Review: These things are the best fitness invention ever!

The Selectech 552 dumbbells are one of the best fitness inventions ever. You get a whole racks' worth of weights in a 3 foot wide space. Changing the weights takes seconds. I am using this with P90X workouts and I have no problem keeping up moving between exercises because changing is so easy. They are a little bulky if you are using a small amount of weight, but how else can you put 52 pounds on one dumbbell unless you make it big enough! You get used to that.
The stand is essential also. Very solid, easy to assemble.
