i don't know why other companies even bother making cheap abec 5 bearings. everybody i know who can't afford swiss joints get these bearing. to be a competitor of bones in the cheap abec 5 bearings market is like fanta trying to get in on sunkist's orange soda game. it just aint' gonna happen dude. these things are so good and so cheap that I bought a bearings cleaner and cleaning solution, got home, looked a the receipt and realized that the money I spent on this cleaner and solution, I could've bought 2 new sets of bones reds. get these!Customer Review: Great Bearings for the Price

These bearings are an awesome deal for the price! If you mention BONES RED BEARINGS to the kids/youth in the neighborhood they will immediately tell you all about the great performance, durability, reliability and quality to be expected when you own a set of Bones. Just like with all bearings, they will last longer and perform better if you clean them properly and regularly, but I tend to believe BONES REDS will still outlast other bearing brands even if you don't service them as regularly as suggested. First of all, these are the best bearings you're going to find in this price range.
Second, don't ride these for 20 minutes then come write a bad review saying that they're slower than your old bearings. These have a break in period of about 1-2 hours, once you've broken them in they're like butter.
Finally, these bearings will not last long if you don't properly maintain them. They need to be cleaned and re-lubed regularly.

These bearings are made by the best Skateboard Bearing Manufactuering company in the United States. They have several levels of quality bearings. This one is their cheapest type of bearings. But they're so good its a steal for the price. The only thing I can imagine messing them up and degrading their performance the most is rain, other than that dont let dirt acumulate to much on them and you'll have these bearings for a while. buy them, they're awesome. when u first get them they're fast and then when u break them in they're even faster...weirdest thing i've ever seen but i've asked around and apparently this is standard procedure for bones reds. awesome awesome buy...i'll only buy bones bearings from now on.
oh by the way... get the bones speed cream too. i also have the cleaning unit. get both if u have the extra money... protect your investment they'll last longer.
