Sports reviews of Bones Reds Precision Skate BearingsCustomer Review: I can really see a big improvement Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I replaced the stock ABEC 5 bearings on my Razor A5 with the Bones Reds I bought on Amazon just to see if it would really make any difference. To make a long story short, they are amazing! There is virtually no rolling resistance. They are so smooth and glide much longer than the stock ABEC 5 bearings. I am replacing the bearings on all the scooters I have with Bones Reds. They are so inexpensive as well.
If you are wondering which Bones bearings to buy, buy the Bones Reds if you have no intention of spending the time to clean your bearings regularly. Cleaning Bearings does take some time, costs money, and it is messy. I think spending 12 bucks a year replacing your bearings is just more reasonable. I will probably change mine every 6 months so that I always have a fresh set. Since my Razor A5 scooter only uses 4 bearings, I will spend only 12 bucks a year. In reality, there is very little difference in performance between the Reds and the Swiss.
But if you don't mind cleaning bearings, spending a lot more money, or you compete, then buy the Bones Swiss or Ceramics. The more expensive Bearings are really for competition where every ounce of speed must be utilized.
Customer Review: Bones Bearings Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have ridden with Bones bearings on my boards for years. My wife needed new bearings for her Roller Derby skates. I told her to take it easy at first. Once she skated off she understood why. She dropped 4 seconds off her first lap. She didn't believe me at first. Now she is down 15 seconds off her lap times. Her Riddell skates had ABEC 5's. Bottom line these bearings are the best hands down for the price. If you ride a Skateboard, Roller Blade, Roller Hockey, or Roller Derby buy these. Don't waste your money on anything else. You won't be disappointed. I also bought her the Bones Bearing cleaner bottle, some citrus cleaner and the Bones Speed grease. Only buy those if you don't have the stuff around the house to keep them clean. Any bearing grease from an auto part store will do, and any degreaser will do also. But I am deployed. So husbands of boyfriens help you girl keep them clean. One last thing Riddell has 8mm axles. Make sure you know the axle sixe first.
Customer Review: Need replacement bearings? Look no further. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
These bearings are excellent for whatever use. Skateboarding, inline skating, scooters, etc. They are THE best bearings. Not only are they made in a renowned factory, but also use a speed lube specially made by Bones. This makes these ABEC-5 bearings ride like high end ABEC-7 and above. In fact, I don't even look at the ABEC rating anymore. Yes, it does make a difference in skates, but you will stop noticing quality between middle to high end bearings. Even if you're a pro, you may not feel that much of a difference. It's because bearings have diminishing returns on upgrades in skates. Machines use bearings at a much higher speed and use them constantly so it makes a greater difference for them. Anyway, for this price, you can replace your whole set of wheels. It'll cost you more time and money to buy a bearings cleaner! Just get this!
Customer Review: THIS WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED!! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
So this product was shipped to me in TWO days and it did not dissapoint. To start off I would like to say these are great they slipped into my wheels very easily and they make my wheels rool much faster, they improve my ollies, and look great with my black positiv board. But they do make the ride a little more bummpy but most people who use these skate at parks(not me). Although I would have to charactorize them buy what level you are at
begginer 1-2 years bones reds
intermediate 2- years a better version like bones super reds, bones swiss, etc.
overall I have been skating 1.5 years and these bearings are very good quality for what you pay. I would recommed these bearings to a begginer or anybody who wants cheap good bearings or wants good cheap backups.
Customer Review: HAULIS ASS! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Bearings act different all differents set ups so heres my board:silver trucks real tight, Ricta 54mm hard wheels and, an ejoi deck 7.75 ins wide.
before i got these i rode some speed demons-abec3 and abec5s. they were good and >CHEAP<. One of my friends had a set of reds and that's what pushed me to get these.
ive had mine for about a week they are not completely broken in yet but they are fast. they are not the fastest I've seen but they are up there. I am mostly just ride around the town but I can do a handull of tricks and at first it was a little difficult keeping the board under my feet while landing ,but I got ued to it quick.
these are GREAT bearing I would recomend them to anyone who wants high quality bearings for a low price.
GO SKATE!
