I know some people have different mats for yoga and pilates, but since I am starting out I did not want to get both. This one is made to work with both and I have found it does the job. It is comfortable to lay down own and is fine for all the exercises I have tried, standing, sitting and pilates mat work with a good amount of padding. Nice non-slipping surface and rolls up well so I place it in a corner of my closest when I am done working out. Good buy and also good for general exercising such as situps and stretching.
