The perfect tailgate game or a competitive contest for a summer lawn party, the Blongo® Family Fun BlongoBall Set includes 2 BlonGoals (racks) and 2 sets of three BlongoBalls. The object is to toss the two BlongoBall, two-piece golf balls attached to rope, on to one of the bars attached to the BlonGoal for a certain number of points.Liven up your camping trips and family reunions with this full BlongoBall set. Appropriate for use both outdoors and indoors, BlongoBall combines elements from bocce, horseshoes, croquet, and other lawn sports, but adds a unique twist: rather than throwing a ball or a shoe, you throw a BlongoBall, which is technically two small spheres connected by a thin stretch of rope. The goal is to wrap your BlongoBall around one of the horizontal bars of the BlonGoal, which stands 25 feet away (or less if kids are playing). Players score one, two, or three points with a successful throw, depending on which bar the BlongoBall grabs. And the game ends when one person or team reaches 21 points exactly. You can even add a bit of defensive strategy to the game by trying to knock your opponent's BlongoBalls off the bars.
BlongoBall is fun for kids and families, but it's also great for physical education classes, teambuilding games, or even as a rehab tool in a therapy setting. The BlongoBall set comes with two BlonGoals and two sets of BlongoBalls. Players can also purchase such accessories as extra BlongoBalls, a carrying bag, and a portable score tower.
About BlongoBall
Mike Long and his wife, Roberta, were early retirees who spent much of their time fishing, hunting, rafting, boating, and RVing. When Mike was introduced to the rudimentary concept of BlongoBall, he decided that the game merited serious development and investigation. Mike built the prototype game and used all of his friends as test subjects. BlongoBall was tested on the beaches of Lake Powell, on raft trips on the Salmon River, on the beaches of San Diego, and in parks and campgrounds form the southwest to the northwest. In every location, passersby would stop and interrupt the games to find out where they could buy BlongoBall. The enthusiastic response encouraged Mike to continue to refine the rules and goal configurations.
After months of design, research and testing, Mike applied for and received a patent for BlongoBall, which has been enthusiastically received by kids and adults of all ages since its release. Founded in 2004, BlongoBall is located in Spokane, Washington.

We created a nearly-regulation, turf bocce ball court when building a new home a year ago, but for this last Christmas I hunted for other lawn games that would fit a 10' x 60' grass area. I discovered BlongoBall on the internet but later happened to find it at Costco (they have everything some time or another). This last weekend was hot in Seattle, so we christened the new court with bocce and Blongo. Well, Blongo won the fun contest! This is a very easy game to learn and play -- and it brings unexpected surprises as the Balls hit the goal, spin around the rods, and end up who knows where. What may appear at first to be a winning throw might finally just drop to the ground. And, what might at first be a 1-pointer can spin to the 2-point rung, and then drop unto the bottom, 3-point rung. In a close game, this animation can generate great hoots and laughter. My wife, not a competitive type, really enjoyed beating me in a three game set, and she set a "home court record" with 10 points in one turn - getting the benefit of an errant toss that bounced off the ground before ending up on the bottom rung. A 5-pointer! with other balls on the 3- and 2-point rungs. The final rubber match score was 21 to 20. Blongo is about as much fun as horsehoes but without endagering property and life from chunks of heavy metal flying about.Customer Review: Well Made, Great Price

We needed a ladder golf set for a BBQ/party we were hosting, and Blongo Ball had great ratings on Amazon, and appeared to be a nice set. We ordered it and couldn't be happier. It is very well made, easy to assemble, and fits back in the box (with carrying handle) when done. This makes it very easy to transport. It uses real golf balls, which is the only way to play... some sets come with cheap plastic balls that don't work well.
For those of you that don't know what ladder golf is... it's a simple game. You toss a pair of golf balls tied together by a rope onto a pvc "ladder". Top rung is 1 point, middle 2 points, bottom 3 points. You play to 21 and each player gets 3 tosses per set, alternating tosses between teams. This makes things interesting because it is possible to knock other balls off the ladder. The game is quite addictive, and can get very competitive. It's a great game for summer parties, camping, etc.
You'll be very happy with the quality of this set.

I spent HOURS reading all of the reviews for various ladder golf brands. They varied considerably.
I eventually decided to pay a little bit more for the blongo ball, and think it was a good decision.
It is pretty easy to put together, my husband did it in no time.
The balls are very sturdy. We've gotten them stuck in trees and power lines, and they still are in pristine condition. They are well-built.
The stand itself is what it is. It's made of pipes. It's not extremely strong. We laid a few bricks on the base (and rocks), to keep it from tipping over.
We play with a very strong throw, so we have managed to crack one of the connector pipes. It's still held together. Tape'll probably fix it completely.
Just keep in mind that you'll need to weigh down the base... ALso, trim your trees! We found this out the hard way.
Overall, it's a great product. relatively portable. We've taken it tailgating.

I think this is the nicest set for this game I've seen. (there are a lot of them out there). This set is well thought out in many details. The way the pieces are made is smart. There is no guessing, and it sets up in minutes. It's very sturdy, not requiring anchors. The balls are real golf balls, not the molded plastic like other cheap-o sets. There are many other colors available, if you want. The instructions are even laminated, so that it doesn't get destroyed the first time it gets spilled on. I definitely recommend purchasing the carrying bag (sold separately). It's also very well done, and I can't imagine not having it.
Many people have approached us when playing, and noted how nice it is. Definitely worth the money! Great fun for all!

I bought this Blongo Ball set after my mom bought my sister one as a gift for her law school graduation party. It was a hit with all the soon to be lawyers and I bought mine for a house gift for my boyfriend and his roommates (ages 25-30). Everyone who has ever played this game with us has loved it. We come home to find the boyfriends roommates have it pulled out on the lawn and are playing without us all the time now. It is a game that is fun for all ages and brings out the best competitive spirit in everyone. It remains entertaining because the balls are so unpredictable and what looks like a great toss can end up a no pointer, and a short throw can bounce off the ground and end up with bonus points.
