I commute on my bicycle and often ride home in the dark. Therefore, I wanted a light that would be seen and this light certainly fit the bill! The light is extremely bright, especially when viewed straight on. I am very pleased that the light also has blinking orange lights on the side. I always worried about a car coming at me from a side street which is something that I no longer fear when I use this light. A fixture is provided to fix the light to your frame via the clip on the back of the light. The clip holds the light securely, but it is easy to snap out when you need to retrieve it. You can also clip the light to your belt or backpack.
My light arrived with several LED's not working. This is not Amazon's fault, but it is a bit of a disappointment that Blackburn didn't have better quality control. The quality control is the only reason that I didn't give the light five stars. But, even with the missing bulbs, the light is still very effective.
If you ride at night, then do yourself a favor and get this light.

The only reason why i gave it 4 stars is because yes, the screws to change the battery are kind of a hassle. Luckily, the light lasts fairly long - regular riding (for me, anyways) is about 3-5 miles/week as the sun goes down with this light on flashing mode - and so far I've had the light for 7 months w/o having to change the battery. I'd have to say however, that one day it just froze up on me. Despite taking the battery out/replacing it it wouldn't turn on. I emailed the folks at blackburn who got back to me within 2 days and are in the process of mailing me a new light! I'd definitely recommend this product because it does what I need it to do, is super bright, and is backed by great customer service. I started biking to work this past fall, and boy is it dark! I needed a rear-flasher. I had seen another review on the little Mars 3.0, saying that the battery life was very-very long. Good enough for me. Then I saw it in person - WOW! this little guy is bright! That sold me on it.
It comes in 3 modes: Steady, Flashing & Disco (those are my words for it). You can lay a light pattern on the wall across the room with this thing. It's that bright.
It also has a clip with it. So, I clip it to my backpack.
So, why did I give it a 4 out of 5 stars? Putting the batteries in, is a pain. And boy am I glad they'll last a good long while, because I don't want to be replacing these things, but maybe once a year.
