Customer Review: Fails to charge after couple of months

I liked the small size and weight of this light... for the first 2 months. The recharging method is unbelievably lame, you have to somehow keep an additional extra little add-on device with highly breakable wires around somewhere (how long before that gets lost/broken), hooking it up to a battery to recharge. That method worked about 2 times for me (using a D-cell, as instructed), but now at 3 months old and hardly used at all, my flea light won't hold a charge for more than about 5 minutes.
I wrote to Blackburn asking for assistance or advice: no response. That's inexcusable. I'll not be buying any Blackburn products again.

I have had two pairs of front and rear and so far both rear flashers have failed. Upon autopsy both units had corrosion that ate away the IC and the circuit board near the bottom of the unit. Now I don't ride in rainstorms, but go through the occasional puddle and wet road. But that was enough to get moisture in there, since it rides just above the rear tire. If you do buy one of these I would find a way to seal up the seams with some sort of waterproofing. When it worked it was great, but now it doesn't.Customer Review: blackburn flea review

After receiving the light combo pack, I read the instructions and then mounted both on my road bike. The next day I went riding at night for two hours. The rear flasher was very easy to mount and worked flawlessly. However, the front headlight worked for one minute and then shut off. I tried three more time with the same results. That night I recharged the front headlight. The day I did a night ride and the same problem reoccured.
So, my advise is to only buy the rear flasher !!!!

Font headlight won't hold a charge after about 3 charges. Now it only lasts 1/2 hour on a full charge. Tail light didn't work out of the box. For some reason, they blink continuously while off after charging. Too expensive not to work well. Don't bother with these.
