I bought two of these, one for me, one for my wife. We're very active, and we wanted bottles that met the following requirements:
1. Inexpensive
2. Could be opened without using your hands - we are both teachers, and, working with kids we are exposed to a lot of germs. If you touch the nozzle of your water bottle, then touch it to your lips, you get all those germs. Nasty.
3. Easy to clean - we've had those bottles with the little straw with the little cover that pops over it. They're a pain to clean
These bottles met the minimum requirements, and also have a couple bonuses:
1. Made in the USA - Just feels better buying American
2. BPA free - Not really concerned about it for health reasons, but it's probably a good thing
3. Biodegradeable - I'm not a tree hugger or an environmentalist, but if it won't be discovered by archaeologists 1000 years from now, that's cool.

BioGreen Bottles are biodegradable if left uncovered and exposed to sunlight. They are recyclable in areas that recycle plastic labeled as #4 and are actually made from recycled #4 LDPE plastic. They are free of BPA, DEHA and DEHP. They are top shelf dishwasher safe and made in the USA.Keep yourself hydrated on long bike treks, during your aerobics workouts and more and stay green with the 20-ounce BioGreen Classic Twister Sports Bottle, which is both BPA-free and biodegradable if left uncovered and exposed to sunlight. It's made of a soft, easy-to-squeeze recycled LDPE plastic material with EcoPure additive and it has a huge 63mm (2.5-inch) wide mouth that makes it easy to fill from ice machines. This bottle is paired with BioGreen's exclusive leakproof DuoFlow twist on/off lid, which enables you to control the flow of water from a sip to a gush.
BioGreen bottles are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic with the EcoPure additive--which is organic, non-starch based and non-destructive to the environment--and makes BioGreen bottles biodegradable if left uncovered and exposed to sunlight. BioGreen Bottles are also fully recyclable in the normal recycle stream right alongside all of the other LDPE plastic items that carry the recycle symbol #4. Made in the USA.
