If you want to understand how Middle Eastern and African style dancing fit together, Belly Belly Afro Belly is for you. This video dives right into teaching exactly what you want to know: combinations that combine authentic African dance steps with belly dance.

This video is probably not suitable for everyone though. If you aren't already an intermediate or advanced level belly dancer, you won't know how to do some of the moves. While the two instructors in this video break down their combos in a way that's easy to follow, they don't teach belly dance technique. If you don't already have a good handle on belly dance, you'll be frustrated with this DVD.

Another thing that's missing in this DVD is an introduction. I wish the instructors introduced themselves and explained how they came to develop their signature African fusion style. I would have also liked to know the history and origins of the African dance steps they use. This video is simply a breakdown of Afro Fusion combos and nothing more.

But there's still a lot to like about this video:
-- great music
-- thorough explanation of steps
-- good camera angles to show moves
-- easy-to-navigate menu
-- performance that shows how the combinations can be used together in a choreography
