Sports reviews of Bell Free Fit Platinum Series 15 Function Wireless ComputerCustomer Review: Speedo not good at any speed! Don't WASTE YOUR MONEY! Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
Got this speedometer for X-mas to as a replacement for another Bell speedometer that stopped working because I got caught out in the rain and it got a little wet. (who would have thought that a bike speedo could not get a little rain on it) Anyhow it looks nice but one look and it reads "0"mph and the next some other then after only 1 mile it just stopped working. so I stopped and readjusted the sensor and was able to get it working for a few feet then (Yes you guessed it) it stopped working again. I stopped again and checked the adjustment even removed the speedo and held it right next to the sensor and nothing. this seems to be the norm for products with the name Bell or Schwinn on it. Once great names in bicycles now just another Crapinise product. Don't waste your money on this item unless you like taking stuff back to the store that does not work.
Customer Review: The Worst Cyclocomputer I've Ever Used Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
This computer installed in a breeze. Much faster than a wired one, naturally. However, it took me 40 minutes to calibrate the magnet and sensor so that the computer would register any wheel motion at all (for those trying, you need to make sure the magnet lines up exactly right with the little "C" symbol on the sensor, and make sure there's exactly 1/8th of an inch between the magnet and sensor, any more or less won't work). I hopped on the bike, ready to ride happily off around town. Imagine my surprise when the computer stopped registering any data when I was traveling above 18mph, and wouldn't start again until I'd come to a complete stop. Looking around on Google, I saw I wasn't the first to have this problem.
This thing's a piece of junk. Save your money, buy anything else.
Customer Review: Don't Waste Your Time Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
This product is awful. Please don't waste your time. While it is wireless, it is very cumbersome to use. It is difficult to hold/handle without pressing buttons. The buttons are not particularly user friendly. And, worst of all, when I stopped pedeling, the data went away. I could not figure out how to recall the info from my ride. If it has that function, I could not figure out how to find it. The only good thing I can say about it is that it seemed to function properly and it is inexpensive. But, I was VERY disappointed with its difficulty of use and inability to retain the info from ONE ride!
Customer Review: I Would give it ZERO stars if I could Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
What a piece of garbage. I bought this for my new bike because the Bell wired computer I have on my old bike worked quite well and I was very pleased with it. I mounted this on my new bike, got it to register and work for about two seconds. Then it reset itself and I had to enter all the initial info again. Two seconds after entering all the info a third time, it reset it self again. Did this five times and gave up. Bought it at K-Mart, will never buy another Bell product again. After reading the other reviews, I can understand why it is no longer available on Amazon.
Customer Review: A Disappointment Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
This product was only a bit more expensive than a wired version which I have on another bike, so I brought one home and am very disappointed.
Aligning the sensor and magnet took much more effort than my wired speedometer, and I had to place the sensor high on the fork just to keep it in range of the computer. The computer never receives a signal when I get to speeds over 17 mph.
The display is easy to read and the product itself is attractive, but this cannot make up for incorrect statistics. It's a real shame.
