Customer Review: I had no problems whatsoever
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Unlike some others, I had absolutely no problem installing this item and getting it to work. The little magnet screws onto the spokes (10 seconds), and the fork sensor lines up with the little magnet (2 minutes). Make sure they're 1/8" inch apart (20 seconds). Install the "computer" on the handlebars (3 minutes). And that's it. Rode around town with it in just at few minutes. I don't see how everyone has had all these problems.

Although if it stops working at higher speeds, or breaks down quickly, I'll update my review accordingly.

Customer Review: It Works For Me..!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I bought this at Target and installed it right outside of the store. It took me about 30 mins, because it's the first time I install a spedometer, but if I had to do it again . . . maybe 10 mins max. Make sure the magnet is REALLY CLOSE to the sensor (almost touching).

I rode randomly about 25 miles and I measured the distance with yahoo maps (two times) and I'm satisfied with it; just hope it doesn't break soon like some of you say...

Customer Review: Why so many complaints?
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

Installed it, aligned the magnet with the arrow so that it would rotate towards the bottom of the sensor and it seems to work just fine.

Customer Review: Same Name, New Look
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I just tried the "Bell Platinum Series 15 function wireless speedometer" and it seems to be working just as well as a wired speedometer. It has the same pos/neg of any cheap bike computer. I will say that I do not live in a big city with a lot of radio interference nor do I go off-road which could cause vibration to the sensor. One thing I would like to note is that the shape of the product is different than what is pictured. This could mean that they have updated the product (mine has the date 07/2009 on the back of the battery cover), or I'm posting in the wrong place, but it looks like Amazon stopped selling the round version for the moment. Mine is "box like", platinum with carbon fiber trim and has three buttons, two on the bottom (mode/set) and one on top (light). I bought mine at Wal-mart, I often rely on Amazon for product reviews and info. If I'm in the wrong place, I don't think my little review will effect the 2 star rating. P/N 1003598.

Customer Review: Just does not work
Sport shop rating: 1 Stars

So I purchased this item strictly for price and the amount of things it tracks even though it got bad reviews. I figured that I can do a better job mounting it on my bike and if that does not work modify it so that it does. It never worked 100% of the time more like 50/50.

Pros:
1.Great button placement, if you mount it next to your handle you can control it very easily. (I replaced it with a cateye which I love because it always works but the button layout here is better opposed to pressing on the unit which requires you to take your hand of the handle)
2. Has temperature, calorie counter and fat counter which the more expensive Cateye strada does not. One of the reasons i purchased this in the first place other then price. Even though not 100% accurate it gives you a good guesstimate much like a machine at the gym does based on weight and age.

Cons:
1. Just does not work, I would do everything possible even modifying the setup so that the magnet stays close to the sensor. Even if the magnet would be with in its limits to the sensor it would at time stop registering the speed and this happened OFTEN meaning that every time I went for a bike ride it would be an issue and about 50% of the time it would stop working.
2. Backlight is crap and its not nearly as clear and easy to see as the cateye.
3. It always resets, again I would often have to start from scratch putting in the wheel size etc.
4. Does not have all wheel/tire sizes that adds to how inaccurate this is.
5. When going over 18/20 mph it would not register the speed. Checked if the centrifugal force could be moving the magnet but that never seemed to be the issue.

Bottom line a good design with a great price that does not work half the time. Spend extra $20 and get a cateye.

FYI, I bike approx 200-300 mi/wk
