Cleaned my Glock, lubed my knives and oiled my boots with this stuff last night. I'm waiting for someone to suffer an open wound so I can test out the medicinal/antiseptic qualities first hand. The Glock was cleaned last week with Tetra Triple Action and over the weekend I put 100 rounds through it. I put a small amount of Ballistol in the barrel and let it sit for an hour before running a patch through it. The amount of crud that came out was amazing. Much more than what could have accumulated from 100 rounds. That leads me to believe that this product cleans better than Tetra CLP. Wiped it down completely and the gun still looked "wet" but no residue came off when I rubbed a clean patch over the surface. The claims that Ballistol bonds with metal may be accurate. Anyway it looked great. I think the issue with the smell has been overblown. The stuff smells like black licorice cough syrup or Classic (Green) Nyquil. Even if you hate that scent, unless you jam your nose in the can you're going to have a hard smelling it anyway. This product performs as advertised and it's non-toxic. My boots look great too, although people keep asking me if I have a cold. Great product! Get some.
