Customer Review: Nice solid first AR sight

First off, I am not rich, or a former or present SF "operator", or even a qualified sharpshooter. I am a chef who happens to LOVE guns. When looking for a "Red Dot" style sight for my new AR,I bought this with the expectations that it was NOT an Aimpoint or EOTech weapons sight (which were way out of my price range). I have been pleasantly surprised at this sights' quality and durability. When I received it, it was very securely packed to prevent damage and came with (2) sets of batteries and a nice little cleaning pad. I would say that at around $100, this sight is affordable quality.

I've shot plenty of rounds(500+)through my 5.56 M&P-15 with this sight attached and have not had any real problems whatsoever. It has held zero very well, even after being dropped, and even out of the box only required about 10 rounds to sight in. The zero adjustment knobs make very small adjustments with each click, so it may take a little time. One item of note...make sure to very firmly screw down the mounting lugs so they don't loosen and the sight does not shift from weapon recoil. That did happen to me, so if you are planning to keep it on your weapon a little thread locker will help prevent loosening. I wish it had a quick release detachable base, but you can't have everything, right? :)

This sight features a 1x magnification, which is basically no magnification. Most red dot type sights are like that. The adjustable brightness settings are nice, and the highest setting works well in the bright Florida sun of the outdoor range, while the lower settings are good for indoors and low light. I was able to co-witness my flip up Troy Industries iron sights through it as well, so I'm not SOL if the optics fail. The battery life seems to be pretty good. I've left the sight on for over a week numerous times, and it's still going strong.
The only minor (very minor) complaint that I have about it is that sometimes the reticle seems blurry or doubled and the crosshairs and dot are not well defined. Not always, just sometimes. Don't know why. Guess what? I live with it. It still hits what I aim at. Every time. My defining moment of loving this sight? A through and through of a ping-pong ball at 35yds, dead center. Pretty cool!

I'm undeniably convinced that using this sight I could put down just about any target that I put in the crosshairs, be it paper targets, intruding bad guys, flesh-eating zombies or killer ping-pong balls.

If you are looking for a super advanced, adjustable telescopic power, futuristic ACOG type, thermal/passive night vision hardcore Delta Operator sight, this is not for you...However, if you're looking for a reasonably priced, easy to zero, quality, moderately cool-looking rifle sight for under 100 bucks,this is it. I like it so much, I may get one for my Beretta CX-4 carbine!
