After reading the reviews, I was torn about buying a size larger or the children's true size. I decided to go by the sizes recommended in the Amazon product description. I bought a purple medium and a blue x-large. They fit my children perfectly -- not too tight anywhere. My son is very thin, so it was a little looser on him but not noticeably so.
It's a good thing I didn't buy larger. The size chart in the description was spot on. Now, my children can swim and I don't feel guilty about sending them in for their lessons when the water temp is less than ideal.

With hybrid Neoprene and Lycra construction, the Stingray is the ideal accessory for keeping kids warm in aquatic environments. The Stingray comes in S, M, L and XL sizes.With its hybrid neoprene and Lycra construction, the Aqua Sphere Stingray youth core warmer will keep your kids from getting too cold in aquatic environments. The Stingray features Lycra arms, neck, and legs, allowing for maximum flexibility and comfort. The suit also includes a durable, easy-pull zipper for convenient dressing. Ideal for use in or out of the water, the Stingray comes in small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes.
Sizing Information:
- Small: For children weighing 25 to 45 pounds and standing 35 to 44 inches tall
- Medium: For children weighing 42 to 47 pounds and standing 45 to 47 inches tall
- Large: For children weighing 47 to 54 pounds and standing 48 to 50 inches tall
- Extra-large: For children weighing 55 to 70 pounds and standing 51 to 56 inches tall
