Customer Review: Quick swims - good, 100-laps - there are better choices

These ear plugs have quite a few good things going for them but they are not perfect.
Specs:
- Easy to insert. There's no 'wrong way', don't need to read a manual, just push them in to the level that's comfortable.
- Triple-sealed. Most ear plugs are this way. On 10-15 minutes swims, very little water, if any makes it into my ears.
- One size should fit all. Silicone is easy to squeeze. My ears are probably larger than average but I don't expect any adult to have issues with these. In fact, my kids have their own and they never complained.
- Storage case. It's mostly a joke. Its purpose should be to make it less likely that you lose the little plugs but the super-cheap plastic container never actually closed so you will need to find some other place to store them or risk losing them.
- Dark blue in color. The product picture shown at the time I am writing this shows light-blue, semi-transparent plugs. Mine are dark blue and totally opaque. For what it's worth, I prefer them to be this way. On the one occasion I lost one of the plugs in the pool, it being dark blue and opaque made it easy to find. Had it been light blue and semi-transparent it would have been practically invisible and very difficult to spot.
- One year warranty. I'm not sure how it would work at Amazon. You are supposed to return the product with proof of purchase to the store you purchased it from. I doubt that Amazon would accept a return for something you bought 6 months ago and actually deal with Aqua Sphere to get you a replacement.
- Made in China.
My experience with the plugs is that they are good, even excellent for short swims. They keep the water out and your inner ears dry. If you are planning to spend more than 15-20 minutes at a time, doing laps, the little extra pressure on the inner ear becomes increasingly noticeable and it creates a sensation of discomfort. I am using these plugs mostly as a backup but I do plug them in on quick swims because they are so easy to get them in and out. I will add a comment to this review to disclose which plugs I'm using on longer swim assignments :).
3.5, rounded up to 4 stars (I like them) should be the fair rating for these plugs.
