Sports reviews of ACCUSPLIT AE170 Pedometer with Steps, Distance, and Calories BurnedCustomer Review: ACCUSPLIT Pedometer Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I like this product, however, it is too sensitive on steps. I find it adds steps for any movement at all.
Customer Review: Major Design Flaw Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
Our yougest son entered the 100 mile challenge at his elementary school. The pedometers the school supplied were gone by the time he turned in his form, so we needed to buy one for him. I purchased this model b/c of the good reviews and I needed one with the distance tracker.
Upon opening the packaging, the back cover that secures the board and battery popped off. I snapped it back in place and hoped this wasn't going to be a constant problem; but it was. It came off repeatedly over the course of the week we had it. Afraid he would lose the battery or damage the electronics of it...I had no choice but to return.
This back cover secures with two minute plastic connectors, and apparently one of these had broken (which in viewing the quality, was not hard to fathom this could occur). Very poor design and a major flaw w/this product.
We returned it and purchased a $5 pedometer at Walmart...and are very pleased with it's capabilities and accuracy. I will say that the company issued the most prompt return I've ever experienced on Amazon...very much appreciated!
Customer Review: Too complicated, but ... Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
This pedometer was way too complicated for me to set up -- five pages of small print -- but maybe that's to be expected for all the product offers. The manufacturer made it very easy to get a refund -- it was strictly no-hassle.
Customer Review: Too Diffucult To Set Up Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
I purchased several pedometers to try out before launching a corporate walking program. This one was too difficult to set up. I still to this day haven't figured it out.
Customer Review: A Company With A Defective Product & No Customer Service Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
I bought this pedometer as a Christmas gift. On it's second use, the unit went completely dead. I assumed the problem was just a battery and went to the company's web site to see what could be done. The web site indicated that the unit be sent back and they would repair it and return it for free. After reviewing the shipping and insurance costs, I felt it would be cheaper for the company (and for me) if they could just send me a replacement battery. I contacted the company via their web site e-mail to request they respond to this idea three times over a period of two weeks and received NO RESPONSE what-so-ever. While I can understand that I might be asking them to do something that doesn't exactly fit their process and I was fully prepared for an answer like, "we can only repair your product if you send it to us," I feel that no response at all to a customer inquiry after three e-mails over a period of two weeks is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I would recommend that, if you are looking for a pedometer, you should buy from another company that actually has a Customer Service department!! This one apparently does not.
