Sports reviews of ACCUSPLIT AE170 Pedometer with Steps, Distance, and Calories Burned

Customer Review: Accusplit AE170 is awesome
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Several of my friends have pedometers. I wanted one too. After reviewing several makes and models, I settled on the Accusplit AE170 and I have not been disappointed. I love the ability to daily track steps, distance, time and calories burned. I try to beat my time, increase distance each day, therefore, I'm burning more calories with the end results of weight loss. The leash is an absolute MUST since the clamp on the back isn't tight enough to keep the ped' from falling off the waistband/belt. Can't count the # of times the leash has prevented loss or damage to my pedometer. BTW...it is very durable. It survived a swim in our pool shortly after I bought it. I thought it was ruined, but after it dried out it was as good as new and still going strong over a month later.

Customer Review: This device works well, is very accurate, and may help you to a healthier tomorrow!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This product does what it says it will do. I am very pleased. I checked its accuracy with a Garmin GPS Forerunner and the ACCUSPLIT AE170 was dead-on in synch with mileage and steps. The wearer does have to put in an accurate stride length for the pedometer to work accurately. Make sure that when you attach the device to your waist area that it is vertical and will stay vertical to get a full count of your steps. For me, this is a great motivational device to move my butt and pile up those steps. I'm delighted when I post a huge number in my journal at the end of the day. I'm in much better shape and my weight is down since February and this pedometer has been a major factor in doing that.

Customer Review: Very Happy
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I'm happy with this pedometer. It takes a little experimenting but once you find the "sweet spot" where the pedometer needs to be worn, it is very accurate. My biggest complaints are -- you can change the length of your stide one centimeter at a time, but if you measure in inches, the smallest adjustment you can make is four inches. Also, I am obese -- that means fat, HUGE. When entering my weight for the calorie counter, the instrument has a relatively low upper limit of 300 pounds. It will be a while before I can put an accurate number into the pedometer. If you are a 280 or 290 pound anorexic, that won't be an issue.

Customer Review: Accusplit Eagle is a great pedometer
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This is the second or third Accusplit Eagle I have owned over the years, and I find it completely satisfactory. It measures consistently, is easy to use, and almost never runs out of battery. But the MAIN thing is, the clip that attaches it to one's belt or clothing at the waist is just right. I have had other pedometers and the clip would either loosen or break, causing the instrument to fall off. With the Accusplit, I am so confident it will stay on, that I never use the safety clip that they provide with it, I just throw it away. It's all in the exact design and curvature of the clip. Please, Accusplit, do not change it.

Customer Review: Great Pedometer
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This pedometer is great. I have been very pleased with this unit, and it is attached to my belt each and every day. Its black cover means that I can wear it without anyone asking what it is, and the fact that it is readable when opened simply by looking down is great (no need take it off the belt). The additional strap is also a great bonus, preventing accidental loss or breakage should it pop off. It has not done this yet with me, and I think that the risk is low - nevertheless putting the strap on is a good move.

The only thing I miss with this unit is the "Time" I would use this as my watch as well if it did!.
