I've had one of these on my Electra Boney Finger for about a week now. It looks like it was made for my bike! I've heard some reviewers complaining about it being plastic and that it didn't come with directions....Putting it on was pretty self explanatory, and if it had directions, most people wouldn't bother to look at them anyway.
Yes it's true that I'd rather have something a little more solid than plastic (at least the nut that holds the speedometer body to the bracket could be a little stronger!), I think the people that retro gadgets like this appeal to are adults who don't abuse their bikes and it should last a reasonably long time.
The odometer is my favorite feature (If looks were a feature, the odometer would be my SECOND fave!)....It's fun to see that I've ridden 4 and a half miles or whatever and had fun doing it, rather than sat around the house....
Bottom line, if you are into old school cruiser type bikes and are looking for a sweet retro accessory, do yourself a favor and get one of these. Save the high tech digital stuff for the techno road bike crowd. ;-)
