Not sure if all pumps are this loud...but goodness this one is so loud it hurt my ears...also the attachments that come with it (for different size holes) are not affixed to the pump so you have to hold the attachments on the blower while it is filling up the item and the cord is not on the side of the pump, it's on the bottom so you cannot even set the pump down while it is inflating the item. It is just a bit awkward. I used it to blow up an inflatable Castle for my 20 month old and there are several areas to blow up and some of them are a bit awkward and trying to hold the pump AND hold the attachments on the pump with one hand was a bit aggrevating.

This pump is so terribly loud that it truly hurts your ears. First, I thought I'd tough it out to get my daughter's kiddie pool inflated. I thought it would take a couple of minutes. But the pump is neither powerful nor quick. I had to give up because me ears really hurt. I could feel the pain in my ears for hours afterwards. Who designs such a thing? This is a real danger to your hearing. Worse than a rock concert! Don't buy this item. I got the High-Output Air Pump - Double Quick III instead. It is a manual pump and gives you a bit of a work-out but in a way that's not a bad thing! It is a fast and quiet pump. A must better alternative.

I purchased this pump for my sons inflatable pool. We tried to pump it for over an hour. Thought maybe was something was wrong with the pool. So I bought another inflatable pool (different type). No, this pump does not pump at all.

This pump is very loud. It does hurt your ears. It also takes a long time to blow up any inflatable pool. The valves that come with it are not small enough to fit into some pool valves. Not worth the money.
